Types Of People In Dreams - Cr - He

January 3rd 2007 01:10

In continuing our expose of our nocturnal visitors, we venture into the crowds of our inner most dreams, to the many types of Hero that visit from time to time, all with messages as unique as their talents ...

Crowds - To find yourself squarely in the middle of a crowd in your dream wanderings is an indication of how we relate to other people.

Often we hide in crowds in our dreams to symbolise that we are hiding a part of ourselves, or indeed showing ourselves how we hids aspects of ourselves and do not single out any one attribute.

A sign of our social sense, finding ourselves in a crowd can often signify an attempt to avoid responsibility.

A Huge Crowd - often signifies more information than we may be able to handle. Warning : Information overload!

Dictators - Often Hitler, Stalin or some such dictator will appear in the dreamer who has an overbearing father. Often dictators turn up in dreams when the dreamers father is being ovebearing or stubborn about something.

Ethnic Minority - The perceived 'difference' within our own nature, from those around us, will often manifest in dreams as a member from another race.

Girl - When a girl of any age appears in our dreams, we are usually trying to make contact with the more gentle, sensitive, innocent side of ourselves. We are seeking within ourselves the qualities of intuition and perceptioon which may be, 'up-to-now' somewhat underdeveloped... it is time to work on these traits within ourselves.

Known Girl - we are probably aware of the above traits but need to explore them from a girlish point of view.

Unknown Girl - time to acknowledge that a fresh approach is now very useful!

Girlfriend or ex-girlfriend

In a Man's Dream - Some fears of sexuality - male female roles.

In a Woman's Dream - Some fears of her mind, and a need to find the 'friend' within her.

Hero/Heoric Figure(s)

In a man's dream - represents all that is good within him, his higher self.

In a woman's dream - suggests the Animus, or masculine side of her nature.

Hero on a quest - The dreamer is struggling to find the very part of ourselves that is at this time unconscious. It is important that the darker forces a overcome - but not killed - since they cannot be totally annihilated without harming the Wise Old Man within. Our eventual integration still needs the challenge of the negative.

The failed Hero - signifies the weak point through which the dreamer can be attacked. His Achillies heel, so to speak. It is time to pay attention to the details in our lives or to be a part of the side of ourselves that we have not developed. There is a warning here too of self neglect in the current situation.

Death of Hero - Time to be born again to something new. A need to develop intuition.

Conflict between Hero and other 'dream' character - Disharmony between two contradictory facets of the dreamers character. The hero often appears as the cure to the hated, external figure in the dreamer's everyday life.

To be Continued.../

I have experienced Girl ( both Unknown and Girlfriend) ). What should I do about this? I've also had Hero, a few times. Crowds, too. Am I unbalanced? What do you think?

That's a great post ! I love it ! Have you studied dream psychology or is this a hobby for you. If so, great hobby !

HI Anthony,

firstly, thanks for the compliment and to answer your question, I did a couple units of psychology at uni, but thought it too silly to continue in the complete clinical (non-spiritual) sense of the word, so I moved to counselling-type ideals. One of them was dream interpretation. Yes it's a hobby of mine that I have had for about [um, let me see ... quite a few years here] ... erm ...30 years? Gosh it is too, 30 years I have been dreaming and reading and doing non-accredited workshops. Does that make me a master? I don't know, but I thoroughly enjoy it and have a knack for it ... now all I have to do is find a way to make someone pay me to do it. I thought orble may eventually do that? At least my mastercard minimum each month? *lol ... still working on that*

The second thing is that there is nothing wrong with yooou I'm afraid, so there you have it, you'll just have to be well and live with it. All your dreams do is help you to descern what we often hide from ourselves and also [to a lesser degree] what the universe sometimes hides from us in the waking world. That which lies a little beyond our frail [five senses] understanding [and the intellect].

I have a strong sixth sense in the waking world and am considered 'psychic' to some degree, yet I still dream, so there are levels there too. Your dreams of females and girlfriends are directly related to the descriptions above, as you wade through unravelling your own life path and all that you have lined up for yourself, on it. Obviously, your hero's have come and gone too, as do the girls.

If however you ever have an explicit dream where you are curious as to why you were kissing your hero...(!wtf?) ... or your girlfriend was...(hmm?) ... or perhaps you were making out with someone unknown in the crowd..(!**?) ... then I am at your service in trying to help you understand those things which disturbed you in more detail, as they will probably relate to your working through some blocked emotions, concurrently moving to new levels of consciousness. Refer to Visitations Vs Dreams for another variation.

You can PM me if you don't want to go public, however, I ask you to consider it, becuase those dreams interpreted on this blogg can be really helpful to others with similar circumstances.

Again, thanks for your kind words of encouragement,

love, light and laughter
Lilla

Okay, It took me a while to 'dream up' (nah, this happened ages ago, but it was hard to pick the details) a story. But here it is. THE FOLLOWING IS ALL TRUE.

I had a strange dream. I believe it began with me and my former girlfriend (who at the time was my real girlfriend) hanging out somewhere dark. A room... my room? I stared at her, and thought she was beautiful. I wanted to kiss her.. and I think that slowly slipped away.. I'm not sure if that happened in the same night, or it was a seperate dream. I have no idea, but this and the following seem connected...

I was hanging out with my sister ( I had a strong bond with her, she seemed similar to my youngest cousin ). Something happened and we got involved with the mafia. Someone told me she got into trouble and suddenly I was in St Kilda thinking "this is just a dream. I can do this. I can find and save my sister. So i ran in front of an oncoming tram. I think I may have slowed it down or something and got on. I ran straight through.

It felt longer than a tram, almost like a long train and i found the mafia having tea with my sister. I swore and told them I wasn't afraid, that they couldn't hurt me. They pulled out a gun, I reached for my sibling and I woke up... The only lucid dream I have ever had and everyone in it was imaginary. I kept recognising people - at least I thought I did... but everything was different and changed somehow...

Thank you so much for this Lilla

Love, Anthony

Hello AnthonyB,

thanks for your patience *lol* I hope it’s worth the wait ...

Any dream that contains intimacy concerns us trying to get in touch with parts of ourselves that we may feel out of touch with. In this case trying to kiss your intimate one, suggests a real life desire to stimulate that dream partner, in the waking life.

Something you failed to do because of an interruption by your sister, which if she is older signifies some persecution. Perhaps she objected to your girlfriend? Felt threatened for your affection? It is quite normal. However if she is a younger sister it is again a part of yourself that you are trying to get in touch with.

Perhaps your previous or currently relationship pushed your boundaries and beliefs?

The mafia (or gang) is our clue here on what you were trying to reach within for. The gang being significant of pack-strength, usually male bonding. Something that diminishes somewhat, when you are involved in a relationship with the opposite sex.

You obviously transcended at this point into a lucid state of dreaming. I think it was a moment of profound decision for you personally on how you would live your life.

BRAVO!!! You have greatness in you and will one day prove it to the world too.

You turning into the hero at this point to rescue "your surrendered self" is indicative of you overcoming the negative dark forces within you, that rally against those you'll need to remain positive, bringing this life purpose into play. I think your dream became lucid because you knew it was up to you to achieve your goals. Perhaps one of the first was becoming square within yourself on how you feel about your sisters affection towards you [if she is older].

Lucid dreaming – or knowing you are dreaming is rare and you should read my post on this too at Lucid Dreaming and Laughter. Follow the links from there.

Trains are one of the most common and interesting dream symbols that we have as dreamers and you should read my post on it too. Basically, they represent our feelings towards social behaviour. Which hints here at perhaps the reaction of your friends to your girlfriend?

Kidnapping is a no-no on both sides of consciousness, but whereas it’s physical in the waking world, in the dream world it symbolises that some sort of psychic theft or vampirism was going on. Either between your sister and your girlfriend, or your mates and your girlfriend, or you and your girlfriend.

Was she taking you away from everyone, all for herself, or were you?

What of her ex-boyfriend?

For you to have made it on the train and run though it suggests you have a strong sense of what is socially acceptable behaviour and are also a sociable person yourself.

The gun is a strong masculine symbol of virility and shows you didn’t back down in the face of a strong masculine presence and threat to rescue that which you were trying to reach within you, which was needed to achieve the end goal in the waking world.

Finally, actually reaching for your sister is a sign that you made your decision for the waking world, at the conclusion of this dream before waking, which was either;

1.[If sister older than you], Ignoring your sisters persecution of, or dislike, for your girlfriend or of mates, family or past boyfriend.

2.[If sister younger], your decision to contact your weaker, gentler side despite the outrageous slings and arrows of your friend, mates, family; or for your girlfriend.

There is the final possibility that reaching your goal enabled you to reclaim something that an ex-girlfriend had “taken” from you. A part of your nature that you had buried deep during the split up. The lack of fear in this dream indicates that the experience should not be regretted, as it made you much stronger and allowed you lucidity in your dreamscapes. A precious treasure indeed.

Peace to you,
Lilla

Hi Hope,

How nice to have that comfort. Was your father a caring man?

Sisi,

This is an interesing combination and indeed innocent you remain, although a crowd that is off-balance as you see it, can ndicate that you need to introduce a few more masculine traits into your poersonality. Like those of resolve, strength and asseriveness.

Thanks for you comments, glad you like the site.

Wow - that was very insightful. I had been considering a break-up with that girlfriend for a while. Things always seemed okay, but a lot of fighting and a lot less love made me turn away. Maybe my dream sister ( i don't really I have a sister ) rescued me - or that gentler part I managed to achieve in dream world was what I needed to have peace in ending the relationship.

I remain good friends with my ex and have considered resuming the relationship in light of how well we get on now but can't - probably because I have found that peace that lets me be kind, but firm.

Thank you so much for that interpretation. I loved it !!
sorry it took me so long to check it. It was well worth the wait !!

Not related to your post but:

The other night I dreamt that a new housing estate opened up in Melbourne (well I think it was Melbourne)........UNDERGROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was something to do with overcrowding.
Anyhoo, I bought 2 blocks in this dream as an investment.

It's played on my mind ever since.

Any ideas?

Hi JoeBlogg,

Apologies for the delay, it’s been mad around my place these past couple of weeks.

‘Going underground’ is a really interesting dream symbol, because just as Alice fell into Wonderland, so too does it mean that you have the potential now to explore your own hidden depths. The subconscious or unconscious is usually seen in dreams as something underground.

If you are not big on meditation or daydreaming, then accessing the subconscious mind is only available to you at night. As such, this dream signifies that this is exactly what you are now attempting to achieve. It’s a journey we take to find out who we really are.

For you, the housing estate is a clue that the subconscious issue you are trying to resolve, revolves around certain attitudes and beliefs, possibly built from our attitudes drawn from our experiences, perceptions - often family habits and values - and environment / customs.

Features of buildings often reflect the dreamers deeper personality. In this case a housing estate is a large arena for many personalities to come together to exchange, in a communal effort to live in harmony and peace. However, the overcrowding which is forcing you to move on, suggests that you feel competition is becoming too much for you in some way. You may feel yourself outgrowing some ‘mutual truth’ held within a current social circle.

A desire to move on is making itself known to you and may be ‘niggling?’

Purchasing two new blocks, suggests that you have two new avenues in mind. We all have the ability for construction and demolishing our lives. Your purchase, pending construction, is telling you that you have already decided which road to take to construct something successful in the future – both with yourself and with another/others.

It is a time of shifting attitudes for you.

The number two also cautions that right now your business and personal relationships need careful handling. There is the possibility for peace, but also for separation if care is not taken.

Are you trying to find a way of letting someone down, lightly?

Were the blocks vacant Joe?

Not being a native of Melbourne, I am not sure of they type of dwellings a housing estate there would have. Did you see it built? Going on a high-rise with many balconies, would suggest that you are in need of some support in your life right now.

Doors are terribly significant and there are so many interpretations that a generic one is impossible, suffice to say that they represent openings to our bodies and as such, our sexuality in some aspect. I need specific information to go further on that one.

Can you remember how you accessed this underground “complex?”

Can you remember any colours that were significant? Did you see windows? How many apartments, roughly? How many stories? What colour bricks? What type of railings?

All have individual meaning Joe.

Feel free to respond with more details if you want to go further with it.

I hope that helps you,
Lilla.

*l-ing ol* DuskyD,

Me too! Reminds me of that movie the secret life of Walter Mithy... Damn straight daydreaming my mother would have called it... "nothing wrong with that," I would have retorted indignantly...*chuckle* I'm sure you've read all the literature on Uranus and know how hard it is for Mum's of lesser souls than us Jedi ...*jj*

Thank you for the compliment my friend, nice to have you back from short sojourn...or was it sweet sojourn?

Thamks Lilla.

It's intriguing for me because:

a) I'm a landlord & have been looking at buying another property - a low budget apartment on the coast.
Which is what I thought the dream was about.

b) But I have just begun work on a half hour weekly sports show that I have been hanging out to get up & running for 3-4 months now.
Combined with an increased workload during the AFL season this makes sense as the double headed demon you refer to.

The blocks were vacant, but the estate was the equivalent of outer suburbia/brick veneer/single story - except underground (although it wasn't dark!)

Are you trying to find a way of letting someone down, lightly? No

It is a time of shifting attitudes for you. No

A desire to move on is making itself known to you and may be ‘niggling?’
Very much so work wise. But I appear set to achieve this although not 100% over the line yet.

Thanks,

Hi JoeBlogg,

Glad you liked it, although I feel that you may be judging a couple things too quickly... Your new show will cause you to shift your attitude and I still feel that someone will have to be given the flick, or let down lightly, about not doing what they originally thought they would be doing... maybe even you?

I'd give it some more time.

Good Luck with it all, Joe,
