Do You Have A Dream You Want Interpreted?

October 10th 2006 00:28
Do you have a weird dream lately that keeps repeating itself, year after year.

What about reoccuring nightmares that won't go away?

What about serial dreams, where you are constantly running for trains, buses or planes and missing them. I have one, in which I always have trouble packing my bags because I have too much to put in them and for years now I have missed the plane because of it. There is just always too much stuff to put into the bag in time.... What does it mean?

What about bridges and a fear in dreams of crossing them - or being on top of skyscrapers. The Bridge scenario dogged a friend of mine for years and eventually, last year, she finally crossed it and lo, she is a woman transformed. She is making changes in her life that are profound.

I will offer weekly posts on various 'common' symbols as we go, see if you can relate to them. Symbols play a very important part of our dream life and beside the obvious freudian values of sexual references that were originally attached to them, it was Karl Jung who pioneered his theory of the collective consciousness. This gave way for some truly enlightened progress to be made into the realms of dreamland.

When added to years of study on ancient cultures, beliefs and scientifically proven cell memory research, together we'll discover a true intelligence and order does present itself, from the middle of this seemingly, chaotic randomness.

Although I am not a qualified psychologist, I have chased dream physiology, psychology and symbology now for nearly 20 years and welcome the challenge of trying to decipher your hardest ones. Perhaps even help you to understand yourself better, along the way.

I often dream of the deep ocean, and I'm either very close to it, anxious that I may fall in, or somehow have to cross a body of deep, swelling water.
I had a recent dream where the destruction of the city I was in (buildings collapsing, chaos) caused me to be separated from my family and loved ones, and I spent the remainder of the dream trying to locate them. It was very apocalyptic, 9/11ish.
And I have had numerous dreams where I am in a relationship, or am intensely attracted to someone whom I have never met in real life, ie physically they do not resemble anyone I know, yet in the dream I know them intimately, or at least they have a distinctive personality.

Hi Bryn,

Thanks for coming. The deep ocean is easy, it is to do with fears of deep-seated emotions. It suggests that you may be afraid that your emotions are so strong that they may overwhelm you if you give them free reign. The best thing to do here is to remember that the more you resist something in life, the more it will persist. Start to allow a feeling to wash over you (by day) and allow it to run its course. Stay detatched and monitor it as it swells, grows and moves through your psyche and thoughts.

Keeping a dream journal and deciphering with w dream dictionary is a good idea for ' Deep Ocean-types' such as yourself. Once you find expression for these feelings you will go far on the backs of them. Ride them like waves. Do not try to progress too fast or you will hinder your real progress.

The city is a natural progression and in my experience I believe there is a group consciousness of either past devastation or that which is still to come. This is a tricky one and I've had the same dream as you describe. In mine all the buildings were bare and bare metal frames were all twisted. The colours were vivid Orange/red and purple. Very Significant. However, with what you describe of yours I would say that we'll go with the traditional interpretations, not the collective possibilities.

Buildings generally represent our overall feelings about ourselves. Check your diet, a poor one can often affect our view about ourselves. Seeing a delapidated building can indicate a need for a lifestyle change - before ruin sets in. Buildings also represent the structure we give ourselves everyday. Without a firm structure to our lives we cannot achieve - or feel that we are achieveing. Talk to successful people, they'll tell you. You must have little bits of dedicated time throughout the day to succeed. One hour for this. Then two for that. Another hour for lunch and Next Tuesday a day to visit Aunt May. That sort of thing. Structure. Without it you will feel the anxiety of letting your family down and being torn away from them. Otherwise, beyond the womb, the family structure is the first we are given and again relates to the struggle of individuality. Are the family allowing you the room to develop yours?

IN the true Freudian sense, Byrn, intimate relationships with strangers is a very common dream, as are those with movie stars and often signals a need for you to be able to communicate more clearly with someone special. There is a need to overcome a fear of intimacy also hinted here.

Overall this dream is pointing to you spending a little time in re-organising your life to include time to get to know who you are and your own body rhythms; its likes and dislikes and real needs.

I hope that helps you to move on.

PS Surveys have revealed that in our waking life women think of sex every six seconds and men every eighth second. Hmmm, interesting.

I have several dreams I want your take on...but I will post each separately...so as not to hog your blog. ;c)

Tornadoes...big, little, miles and miles wide, little tiny ones dancing about my feet, horrifying massive ones,
I have dreamt about them for years. I have been told they signal change but I cannot always credit the
dream to a particular change going on. What are your thoughts?

Thank you,

My second dream is just bizarre and gives me cold chills to this day.

I was brushing my hair, which is long and dark in the dream and short and light colored in reality, when my brush caught on something just at my forehead. I kept trying to brush my hair and each time the brush caught. I finally went to the mirror and looked to see what was going on and there was a large hole that had been covered up by my hair. The hole lay flat, like a line but when I lifted the top flap of skin up, there was a deep recess back into my head. Not only was the hole deep but it was healed up completely, an old wound obviously because there was no blood or anything. I got a flashlight out and looked into the hole. There were cobwebs and maggots in there.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??? I am so sorry if that grosses anyone out. Its just what I dreamt and I need Lillas brilliance on this one.

Ok...this one is just embarrassing! But..well, I was in a room full of people all sitting on a long curved couch. Jennifer Aniston was there and I was sucking on her fingers in a sexual manner in front of everyone! Even though in reality, I am married and have four children!!

Analyze away...

Bryn,

Just briefly about the four second time span thing, I wouldn't worry, in my opinion it is for the best, because when you do finally find your submarine or wet suit and cross the great ocean (and you will, believe me), you will probably find that you are capable of a very great love, and will most likely find one.

She's a lucky girl.

Dreams second. NIghtmares third.

It's my waking thoughts that disturb me the most. I keep thinking about you ... LOL ...

On a more serious note:

The most recurring dream I have is where I'm flying like a person who is hang-gliding (but without the hang-glider) ... and I can perform any manouevre whatsoever I like ... triple somersaults don't even come close (Bejing divers and gymanstic hopefuls, eat your hearts out). I don't know anything about time-frames in dreams but they seem to go on for a long time (it's very enjoyable. And it's never raining. So it's not a wet dream. I wake up dry around the pubic region but feeling better than if I'd had a wet dream or sex even - from what I remember of the experience). Years ago it recurred two nights in a row. I flew over the same area and there was a house there that I didn't recognise. The area itself seemed vaguely or somewhat familiar, but I couldn't pinpoint it as a place I'd seen before. Electricity wires or power lines have caused a few problems in these dreams. I've only narrowly avoided them at certain times. And once I coerced a girl (no-one in particular) into believing she could fly. She came with me but we ended up at this very strange house (where I'd never been before). That particular dream certainly had power lines in it. After meeting the people at this house, I'd had enough, and wanted to leave. I left by myself, and narrowly avoided the power lines again. And on the odd occasion these dreams have ended with me losing the ability to fly and wondering if it was such a great idea after all to be the first hang-glider without a hang-glider.

As to nightmares ... I'll get back to you on that one ... It seems like you didn't realise what you'd gotten yourself into by posting a blog like this ...

Voices (i) - Hurrcanes, big winds, little winds

Another easy one and I'll start with this one because it will apply to many people. It is another common dream symbol, which often reaches scary proportions, because it signifies an overulling feeling of obligation you feel to supress your own desires to keep the status quo. Hurricanes and whirrly-winds are often activated by the fear of loosing the love object by realeasing the truth of who we are. Basically, you are looking at a force you are afraid you cannot control. Specifically, I am talking, passion.

What you need to figure out are your true feelings of responsibility to the people around you, especially your partner(s) - past, present, future. Do you feel that you come on too strong, too fast? Are you avoiding asking (or talking) deeper, about a need to act out some of your fantasies. Is it because you feel you will be judged as something (or someone) who is depraved in some way. Has your partner asked you to be involved in their fantasies which make you feel depraved in some way? You need to allow your passion free reign ... slowly. It is clear you have a very passionate nature and will need to explore it slowly, least it overwhelms you. Take your time, don't get caught in the morass of the mind in trying to figure it out. Step back into your body and allow your inner wisdom to discern what you need.

You could wear some Flourite to help with self disipline issues, if you think it is stronger than you. Remember, practice makes perfect.

The key to understanding which areas specifically affecting you can be found in noting (next time) whether you are picking up water in the hurricane, are there peices of driftwood or things in there with you? Do you get caught up in them yourself? You have not mentioned what happens to the hurricane around your feet ... do you wake up, or does it dissipitate?

I hope that helps a little, Voices,

More to follow,
Stand-by...

Voices - Dream No 2 - Holy Head.

This is a very personal dream but not so hard to understand as it contains many symbols which are again common, yet it is their order here which makes this a very personal dream. I'll just light some insence and then begin.

Hair in dreams respresents strength and virility. To be combing it shows you attempting to untagle a particular attitutde you have towards certain people or circumstances. Discovering the hole underneath is a really interesting progression. (and this is where it gets personal), because to dream of the the head is precognitive of your view on power and wisdom. (you can see where we are going with this, can't you?). Not satisfied to have a shallow view, you want to look deeper into yourself to find purpose and meaning. Do you feel that you have a life purpose that you cannot quite grasp yet? Dreaming of the head in general, suggests that we should be very careful in how we look at wisdom and folly. Has someone accused you of being useless, making you question your values?

The discovery of the hole is a shock (yes?), but you want to explore further, why? Could it be because you feel that there is still more to understand in your journey before you can find the true meaning. A round hole represents the heavens and is seen as a portal to our subconscious - beneath our outer personality. The cobwebs and maggots are a great sign that all is well, although alarming because there is a reason that you cannot know the secret of what lies between worlds, before your time. That is what the maggots represent, your fears of death, which you grapple to come to terms with. The cobweb is interesting here because dreams of spiders represent our mothers (birth, a way into the world). Here she is gone, but something of her legacy remains.

The symbology strongly suggests these fears could possibly be the result of a missunderstanding or powerplay between you and your mother either through her strong beliefs overpowering yours, or lack of them. She either strongly supported you, or strongly didn't/doesn't. Either way, strong feelings you are learning to go beyond, because you have found the torch of courage to shine the light, revealing the truth.

One other thing, dreams about foreheads often come to those who have a very strong mission and will reach some form of public acclaim, once they have stregthened their own fibre. Learn to put past heartache into the "so WHat" basket and move on.

There is no blood because there is no danger of looking within. Be still, know you are God. Well a part of him anyway, the part called Voices, surely the true discovery of that is a wonderful journey?

Lilla,
I have often narrowly missed being swept up into the smaller ones. I often had to rescue my children
from the tornadoes.

The massive ones have destroyed my house, and have often swept me up inside them. I will be inside
them looking at all of this other stuff that has gotten swept up. In the dreams with the massive tornadoes that are literally miles and miles wide, I have thought that I will die.

The tiny dancing tornadoes have often been about my feet like little shih tsus wanting attention, literally almost interacting with me. I once had this dream where they were at my feet as I was holding hands with my husband walking down a country dirt road. At the same time though, I do remember being facinated but weary of them. As though they might grow out of control. They did disappear in the dream and I remember being sad that they left.

Congrats on this blog...I really think it will be huge...massive...like a tornado! lol

Thanks again, V.

I really think you would benefit by getting a hold of a fairly good dream dictionary and by trying to remember what the objects are in the tornado with you, each time. This will give you a hint as to the area of life you are dealing with at that time.

I love that I can help in some way.

Wow, what interesting BLOG this is!

As for me, my dream that haunted me since childhood was almost the same as Bryn's. The only thing was I was always filty and running everywhere, usually looking for someone (sometimes family, sometimes someone I knew but couldn't remember who when I wake up).

There was a few times I dreamt in the same dream that I was someone that could fly (sometimes I have wings), flying around the damaging city with orange sunset.

Once I am on the ground I somehow have the trouble flying up again or sometimes, I ended up unable to fly and start running.

In between "searching for the person" I come across many people, who are as filty in dirt as I am, running at a direction that I knew was dangerous. I kept calling them and telling them not to run that way because it's the wrong direction.

This occur for sometime and usually when I was trying to direct people to the right shelter, there will be this great light blinding everyone, including me, like a nuclear bomb explotion.

Note that I had this dream before I watched Terminator. LOL...

The only odd thing is I haven't have this dream last year and this year. It was recurring like every few times a year.

Perhaps you can enlighten me on this dream?

Voices, this is a tricky one, isn't it?

I'm going to start off by saying that I feel that it is embarrassing because your are the wife half of the marraige you speak of and that makes the girl/girl thing, abhorent to you?

So on this premise let's have a look at what you are trying to tell yourself.

Firstly, when we dream of some kind of image that we, the dreamer considers perverted in some way, we are avoiding issues to do with closeness and bonding. The second clue is the person themselves, a movie star (same sex denoting that projection of the type of person we would like to be, opposite sex trying to find that part of ourselves we think we have lost). Does Jennifer have qualities that you admire (apart from the fact that she's close to Brad Pitt)? Do you believe she is more carefree or accomplished than you are?

Feeling strong desire for either sex in a dream is symbolic of us looking for a part of ourselves. That this occurred amongst a crowded room, suggests you sometimes feel a certain isolation within your social circle. This dream really does piggy-back off the last one with a natural sort of progression. It seems to progress the premise of you not being, or feeling, as free in your life as you want to be. Again, check your values and lifestyle. Is there something you wanted to do and have forgotten about it? Did you have a passion as a teenager that you now need to revisit?

Whilst kissing in dreams is a symbol of acceptance, sucking as you describe it, suggests your need to have that which you feel you have not yet attained, through this reflection of someone who's traits you admire.

The fingers in dreams have very special significance.

1st finger - growth and expansion
2nd finger - feelings of restrictions and confinement
3rd finger - the self and self-esteem
4th finger - communication

Do you remember exactly which fingers you were sucking?

The message here is that your were trying to suck out these qualities, strength and courage against restriction and confinement. You must face your inner critic (judge) and make a deal with her. Be careful of her and don't let her rule the roost over you. Don't let her beat you up! Be careful, she's happy to take away all your opporunities. When you see her coming, put a bigblack cross through her pathway. Apply for the job, talk to your husband, venture forth and let others tell you, you are not good enough, not her - the inner critic - and certainly not before you have tried! I always tell mine that I will have a drink with her later if I fail.

Voices, It's time for action!

A blue stone - like Lapis Lazuli - worn around your neck will help you express yourself verbally, if you have trouble speaking your truth, due to a supressed upbringing.

Thank you so much for sharing,
I wish you good progress on your journey.
Let me know how it's going from time to time.
L.

Homer darling,

I hardly know you and yet it feels like I've known you forever...

Welcome. I am so glad we are going to fly next because it is common and it is where we leave the world of Freud, the physical body and all its fluids, and head off into the stratosphere of Karl Jung and the collective consciousness. A warning to the faint hearted, this is where it can get wierd, religious, spaced-out (twilight zone-ish) or just plain, nice.

On a physical level Bryn, is correct, flying dreams usually herald a leap in sexual maturity towards eros truly finding physical pleasure. As above, so below.

However, flying comes from the angelic realms and it is where groups of incarnate souls go to find each other and reunite. Enlightened souls fly and remember their flights, those with work to do. What work? Light work - inspiring others, helping them to find their own light. These "others" often appear as non-descript characters in dreams where there is only a vague sense of gender, without sexuality.

Why can angels fly?
Because they take themselves lightly... and this is where money, flow and poverty comes into it, because as you all know, all light work is service and all money is generated from an exchange of energy. Money is like water, you cannot own it, you can only use it.

In your case Homer, I am not sure that it wasn't me taking that flight with you? I'm very nondescript and it sounds exactly like a flight I took a few months back myself, with this equally, lovely non-descript fellow. According to Jung this kind of flight, presages an upcoming meeting of a new friend, someone who seems so familiar, even like a true mirror to help you remember who you truly are - because that is what it is all about, remembering.

As you correctly say, time frames vary between multiverses and cannot be defined, accurately, because in spirit there is no time. It can be of no surprise that like minds connect in dreams and then come together back on this reality ... in blog groups, at the supermarket each week, at the laundry, in the boardroom, at the local gym.

Therefore dreams of flight, particularly when you can master your "wings" with skill and ease, are precognitive dreams that portend a period of time when you will be helping others by inspiring them through being who you are. And that is the responsibility, to be who you are, totally. Sometimes this is not an easy task, especially when it all perculates down to the physical level of sexual relationships, family and peer pressure, you know, manifesting money, paying bills and mundane reality.

When you find that you are loosing your ability to fly yourself in a dream - especially after you have been helping many people - then you are warned to make contact with nature and be careful not to burn out. SO easy to do, because the work is so light, it beomces addictive ... enter all you obsessive compulsives. The saving grace is usually the non-descript person(s) you flew with, they will enter at exactly the time needed for you to take a breath.

This is not so for dreams where you fly alone and or are only teaching. Then you will need to be more vigilant to ensure 'time-out,' not burn-out (like me with this blog...jj). But keep them coming, we have time enough to spare.

Seen in said flying dream, the symbolism for a building is slightly changed too. From your words, I picture it out in the country somewhere not in suburbia. Green rolling hills around and those dread power lines? I've had a few of those take me out over the years. The other night they fried my hot air baloon!

It's all really simple. The people in the house are the like minded souls of a group you will, or have encountered where you 'hang out' for a while. People who in pre-life agreements you have a bond with (on some level) who will help and be helped by you, to achieve global shifts in consciousness (dare I say it) back to the ONE. Sometimes we stay with them for a week, sometimes a lifetime, it depends. Electricity lines in dreams like this, symbolise power. Like the light, most of us can't handle too much of it and they appear to warn us to be aware of our capabilities. Time for some gratitude back on earth for a while - cosmic humble pie - that sort of thing. Ooh and lots of prayer, did I mention prayer?

I hope this helps Homer
I'm bushed and going to bed, perchance to dream some more,
I might see you there, bring your shades
L.

Good Morning Jessica,

As promised, your interpretation.

I will not add to the flying part as I think I covered it in Homer's interpretation (above), except to perhaps add that any dream involving the sky, generally relates to the mind in a very non-descript way, and so it is no surprise to have found so many flyers amongst a writers blog community.

You mention '..a damaging city?' I am not sure what this means, but an orange sun is very interesting because it offers a clue as to the direction your happiness will be found. For you it is in consciouss awareness. Do you feel that life should be lived fully - in the now, a full-on immerision experience? Orange is essentially a cheerful, uplifting colour and your penchant will be to bring others out of fear and into the light of 'doing,' 'living,' 'being.' Orange also signals satisfaction and autonomy, and I imagine that both are very important to you?

Searching for people, either to 'just find them' or for a specific reason is another interesting, and common dream symbol. Basically it relates to our searching to find a solution to a problem in our waking world. Searching for another person suggests a feeling of inner loneliness. And to find them covered in mud, well that is very figurative, because in a flying (spiritual) dream mud represents our premordial beginnings and points the way for a strong need to go 'back to basics.'

To find yourself covered in mud yourself, means you have somehow become bogged down by not properly seperating the emotional (water) from the practical (earth). Have you got caught up in something? Together with the Sun section of this dream, I think the message is that you re-evaluate your values and intentions. One part seems to be out of alignment with the other, doesn't it?

You have qualities to help you inspire and lead others and the Sun in your flight assures you, that you are meant to, but again you must be true to yourself. If you are living a life that is not in conscious keeping with your true inner values, then you cannot help the others from rushing headlong into the same fate. You obviously have a responsible future, because it falls on you to lead the way, but you must first find the way of making yourself authentic to your inner values.

A clue may lie in the 'Running' part, because in dreams it always denotes a need to establish a time and a place for things. And I believe this dream re-occurs to warn you that you must do the same, time to re-align every now and then.

I hope this illuminates things a little, Jessica.

L.

G'day to you Lilla!

Thank you so much for your interpretation. I believe that there's partly true in my dreams that many of my friends used to seek me for some advice or just talk to me to get their minds cleared.

Sometimes when my housemate had a problem and she'd call out to me when she sees me, and after talking to me (even I didn't give any advice - just interact with her conversation) she'd say, "Thanks! That cleared my mind a bit, I know what I'm going to do. Thanks you are really a life saver"

Perhaps it has something to do with my dream.

Another thing it is quite true that I believe life should live to the fullest, but not under a self-endulgence or money hungry, because these "worldly things" cannot be taken with you at your end of days.

Anyway, after reading your interpretations, I tried to remember more detail of this past dream that kept haunting me since very young age.

About "damaging city" it's like a city full of dust, it's dirty and looked like a little war-torn. People around (who are filty) looked like as if they were beggars, or refugees. Some just run around aimelessly trying to run away from something.

Usually I don't remember how I am when I was flying. Sometimes in filty war-torn clothes, sometimes wearing something simple (light coloured dress or something similar). Then when I "landed" and stopping people going to the supposingly wrong directly, I started realising my hands looked filty. The more I run, especially when I couldn't take flight again (to look for that someone - or family member - flying is easier to find them) I can see I am like sweating, and filty, as if I have been running around lurking at all places.

The searching is rather intense. And I was sometimes panting for breaths, looking into alleys, and keep searching.

No doubt about it the sky is always orange. Sometimes darker orange, sometimes like those striking gold sunsets after rain (I saw it in Toowoomba once after the storm).

But what about the last part everytime before I wake up? The blazing light from the wrong direction, and it is like having a neukler bomb detonation.

I'd be glad if you would enlighten me on these parts.. ^_^

HI Again Jessica,

I think I covered all the searching, dirt covered and raggy aspects earlier, as well as the orange sky/sun. Please read the interpretation again and give it time to sink in. See what resonates and what doesn't within your own psyche.

Dreams are safe places for us to release (and work out) our problems in order for us to cleanse our anger and fears. An explosion is a symbol of an intense form of this. It enables us to make room for a more positive expression with more confidence in who we are and what we are thinking and feeling.

Good Luck in sorting through it.
Lilla.

Homer, darling,

I am aghast that I have neglected to repond to you for so long, although I did in other places.

I do not know who you can talk to about this condition, but I feel that given time you will come to realise that it could never be, my darling, you and me. *dramatically places one hand on sighing chest and her other to her temple* looks away ... ooh okay, just talk to me then ... I will never be far away, as I am held captive by our daily blog correspondences also.

I don't have any recurring dreams but at the moment, this is the weirdest dream I have. Please take this seriously, I am not kidding. This is EXACTLY what I dreamed.

I was at a cave somewhere near the beach. I could hear the waves and smell it, even though it was a long way away. I can remember seeing a baby hippo eating the pineapples I saw growing in someone else's garden so I shooed it away. I then sensed someone behind me and I turned to see St Michael (don't ask me how I know it was him, I just do) who lead me to a book and told me to study it.

I woke up at that point and to this day I haven't known anyone that can give any kind of satisfying answer to what the hell it might mean.

Again, I really did dream this and no, I was not on drugs and hadn't eaten anything weird.

Everyone's dreams are so intruiging. I have a recurring dream that pops in out and of my life when I am under stress. It's pretty basic - I see someone, or part of the person (once it was just fingers curling over the window pane) at the window and I wake up screaming someone is trying to get in.

Hi JoshZ,

This is a lovely light dream and I have enjoyed researching it for you and I'm almost done, but I have to clarify whether you are refering to the Archangel Michael when you mention St Michael. Can you add more description of your image?

Thanks

Johanna,

You haven't given me many details other than three main symbols, so I will deal only with them and if you can remember any more details later, come back and tell me. When I say details I mean is it night, day, stormy, cloudy. Are you in the bedroom, in the loungeroom, or on the sofa when you look at the window?

Either way, looking at a window is a very positive symbol. A window in a dream stands for bright hopes, vast possibilities and insight. So why the scary image of clawing fingers ....?

Well, as I've outlined before, each finger has a significance when seen in our sleep. They are as follows,

1st finger - growth and expansion
2nd finger - feelings of restrictions and confinement
3rd finger - the self and self-esteem
4th finger - communication

Do you remember exactly which fingers you can see?

To see the whole hand implies that your power and creativity may be trying to reach you?

If the window is shut your problem is one of abandonment and rejection. If the window is open and the fingers are coming in , there really should be no angst because an open window signifies, reflection from your consciousness.

Are you are aware of your point of view, awareness, and intuition in your current situation? You may be reflecting on a decision and seeking guidance. You may need to go out into the larger world and experience life. IS there a childhood trauma here? I suspect that thereis something to do with darkness or a memory of being overly criticised?

To hear yourself screaming is significant, although again I'm not sure whether you wake yourself up or not by doing so? However, it signifies pent up anger and fear. YOu are screaming at yourself to release and allow your creativity free by releasing the emotions which have become blocked up inside.

This dream suggests a classic type of fear of success type scenario. YOu must develop courage in your life situation, something is blocking your progress and when it reaches boiling point in your everyday life, it seems this dream reoccurs to try to remind you that you must push through.

Try to notice what the weather is doing outside the window, next time. Perhaps notice more details in the fingers themselves, or where you are in the room in a spatial way and come back and let me know what the symbols are. I may be able to shed light on the way you can move forward.

I hope this helps Johanna.

Love, light and laughter
Lilla.

HI JoshZ,

So sorry for the delay. I only know one Michael in the angelic realm and that is Archangel Michael and have created the interpretation out on this very same angel. (Someone please correct me if there is another St Michael - thanks).

Okay then, JoshZ ...

This is a lovely dream and I have enjoyed researching it for you. You are special and again I am reminded of how like minds are drawn together to achieve higher goods. Orble is proving a good gathering ground in this sphere …

Let's start with the cave. In dreams it represents our drop in the unconscious and signifies a change of state from one form of living to another, higher one. It is precognitive that you are entering a time of being able to recognise and control your negative impulses. Candles represents that we are trying to clarify something. Psychologically, they represent knowledge or wisdome that has not yet fully chrystallised. The beach is close by and represents the edge of your emotional body. It shows of the boundary between emotion and reality, your ability to be in touch with your spatial location in the waking world. It points towards relaxation and creativity in the waking world and is relevant as it leads us to the cave, where dropping into the unconscious you discover a Hippopotamus - the symbol of inner strength he says, you have more influence and power than you realise overyour current circumstances, but you don't want to listen and you shoo him away. Be careful this is not borne of laziness.

A garden appears in the dream asking you to look to that which you are trying to cultivate within yourself. What is it you are trying to achieve? You have not mentioned whether the garden is closed off or not, however you say it is your neighbours garden and suggests that you may harbour envy of a friend, or the need to approach someone. Either must be worked out and overcome through re-evaluating your emotional intentions.

Quite simply, you have been given a gift and have a divine life purpose which you have rejected looking at with the Hippo., the Archangel Michael comes to tell you that he has come to give you strength to make life changes that will help you achieve your divine purpose. He offers you safety and protection and is seen throughout Christianity as the highest of high when it comes to rescuing the souls of the faithful from the power of the enemy - in this case your resistance to change - esp. when you need to make one at home or at work. He says, you are a lightworker and this is why you often feel 'different' from others, isolated at times. Archangel Michael will help you achieve your divine puurpose. Ask, and then Act.

I hope this helps you to understand,
Lilla.

Hi Lilla

Thank you so much for your interpretation. It was very insightful and made me really think.

In answer to your questions, it is always dark and sometimes the window is closed and the person/being is trying to get in. I hear the scratching on the window or door. Sometimes I even think the person is inside the room (always the bedroom) so they have successfully made it in.

I'm not sure excatly which fingers, but i think it was the middle three. I usually have this dream when I am under extreme stress.

Thanks again.

Hello again Johanna,

Classically when a bedroom appears in a dream it represents a place of safety. A place that we feel we can be as open and sensual as we want ot be. How that translates to the daytime in classic Freudian interpretation is clear that you need time alone. I would say that whoever is causing your stressing situation may be the cause of the person at the door or window in the dream. Someone is encroaching your privacy and you need to let them know it.

Push back a little Johanna and take the time for yourself, especially when there is lots to do. Thereis never an excuse not to look after yourself too.

Drinking lots of water is helpful to anyone in a stressing situation, anytime.

Again, blessings.

Lilla,

I'm so glad to have had some time today away from the clashing hour upon hour at work. I find dreams absolutely fascinating; and your replies most revealing, as you write them in your caring way. I learnt a lot.

Mine is a doozy, i had it last week, i've never had it before, and it keeps haunting me, hence my need to understand it; I also had 2 more dreams the 2 nights after.. much shorter than this one. Excuse any fragmented writing, we're talking dreams.... I know it's long and take as long as you need... thanks so much Lilla...

Get ready for the ride....

I am at a tavern i go to sometimes (which looked nothing like how it really does) and I saw Butterfly serving drinks behind the bar. I thought she was in America?', i wondered.

At the back of the bar was an untidy area with three desk booths like at a school library, and various rooms with people and piles of junk stacked on shelves. i set up my notebook at this desk and started browsing, i saw an email message from butterfly, she had only written a couple of sentences, it was about one of my poems. i don't know what she said, but i know it was nice and made me feel good.

I looked around because i sensed someone looking at me, i saw there were also some single mothers; they all looked sick and suspicious and i learned that they were there because this place was a mothers refuge for girls getting off drugs. They all hated being there and wore scowls like teenagers do when you say no to them. They started to hang around me, and i let them because i wanted to help them. The first girl was especially nice to me.

Then i realise i was on some girl's computer, i apologised and got off and started to look for my notebook. i also looked for Butterfly; there were four new girls on the bar, but none of them were her.

In looking for my notebook, i kept finding one and saying "oh there it is", but it wasn't, they were all old and had obscure sticky labels on them in masking tape with black felt pen writing, each of them claiming them to be someone elses, some had childrens writing and others with writing i couldn't understand because it was scrawly. I found a pile of computer paraphenalia and searched through it frantically, also old cameras and walkman radios.

One of the girls was in a fetal position in a booth, one of the other girls berated her about being sad again, calling her foul names; then fetal girl dissappeared. I started to realise that my notebook was definitely missing as i had searched everywhere, but at this point i didn't suspect her, giving the benefit of doubt. i felt sorry for her and thought i had just misplaced it somewhere, so i was just to look and i would find it again. i started to suspect the other girls.

Back on this girls computer, or another one? i got an email from a friend with a request to help with editing a post and something about one of the people there having a few bad words and a postman.

I thought i'd get to know these girls out the back, i thought twice about asking them if they'd seen my notebook, as they were acting 'too' nice to me, and i thought i would befriend them to investigate.

I found myself looking after the baby of the girl who had the fetal position, her baby wasn't crying but i knew he was upset, and i knew it was a boy. Between the bar and the rooms out back, were beds made up for little children, i don't know how i ended up looking after this little baby, but i did, i soothed him and placed him on the bed. The baby had a string of fake dark lilac pearls for legs and i was touching them, fascinated, especially the end pearl and thought it must be his foot. It looked like it had fine hairs on it, like a new cactus leaf gets 'hairy' before a new leaf begins to grow. i accidently broke off this end pearl by handling it too much. The baby didn't cry and i noticed that now it matched the other one that was gone too. Here i had much pain and grief.

I returned again to a small room at the back, to change his nappy; another girl was changing her babies nappy and i asked her where this babies mother was. she said "she's probably gone back to her room to bed." i looked up a winding staircase that had broken turned posts and old notices on the wall; paint peeling.

Two men came in, dressed much like a german or a russian solder, with their khaki thick wool uniforms with shoulder epaulettes with gold inscriptions, and proper stiff hats. They looked like they were after me. I don't recall what happened but, i spoke with them and soothed them.

The fetal position girl appeared, smiling, but was now transformed wearing a blue halterneck dress, with freshly washed, curly blonde hair and bright skin.

Somehow we are pushed ahead of time and are now in my car, i am in the passenger seat, and she in the drivers seat of my own car, she smiled at me and then her face turned dark and threatening, she starts up the car and smiles, the air is suddenly tense. i reached over and turned it off and pulled the keys out roughly and glared at her, then i noticed she had severe nasal hair (lol) and she got out and ran because she saw how angry i was. Here i realise it was her who had taken my notebook.

Then i am reversing my car fast down a road and in looking in the rear view mirror, i could see the tops of tiled roofs of houses getting closer to my left side, i knew i was going to go over the edge and as i did, i fell through the roof of a house. I felt the anticipation of going to die, as one does in a plane crash. As I am falling through....

....my alarm goes off.

Upon waking, i feel every emotion of the dream in one instance and i am utterly confused and disorientated, with a pounding headache and high anxiety. As I wrote this dream, both began to ease and my thoughts and feelings start clearing --

note: I didn't have one drink in that bar; damn.. and why i was there? I have no idea

~Lilly,

Well at last a chance to respond to your dream. I've lit the insence and am away...

But firstly, I just have to say that I feel there's a lot in this dream that I recognise in the Orble community. Are you clairvoyant in any way... or clairsentient, claircognizant perhaps...? You've taken on a fair bit here and part of you recognises people in here - as I've said before in other interpretations. Like minds drawn together for the purpose of .... what any group does. Recognition, support and confidence in the outer world. It's LIke family, but who was it who said, Freinds are the Family you choose for yourself?

Anyway, having said all that, I will look at the symbolism that I feel pertains solely to you and your integration of them into your conscious awakenings....

The main theme is the Bar. In the dreaming the bar or Pub is a symbol of masculinity, or perhaps behaviour which is designed to give us pleasure and fun. You waking view on bars will reveal your view on the latter aspect of masculinity. BEcause you didn't drink whilst there, I hazard a guess that you are working through some past issues with relationships, in general..

My sign in Orbleland is a butterfly, but in a dream it relates to a freed soul and immortality. You say 'she' was serving drinks so you recognise a reflection of your own soul here, but the dream turns to memories of your day, an email from a butterfly freind, who is sitting at a computer along with many others - connected, again - perhaps, to Orbleland (?).

On the mundane [biological/neurologicall] level, it is believed that we file away the days events during our sleep... Most of the time we do so without being aware of it and only catch random snippets of the daily itinerary as it is filed away into the various categories - like a library - and rooms, where different people reside for different purposes within our waking life. It seems to me, Lily, that some of the blogs you've visited have left a powerful impact on you and you were awakened to an almost conscious, lucid filing of all the daily information. At a level perhaps that you have not previously been accustomed too. Well not in the real world, where the density of the body slows the speed of thought down to a mere trickle of body language and a few grunts. Thoughts, in Orbleland, travel faster, almost at the speed of tlepathy, very often surpassing it. Have you noticed people saying things that you only just thought, or poeple saying things that make you feel like they have been watching you...? Sometimes it's hard not to take it personally, a lot of minds whizzing round in here, isn't there?

But I digress...

So, after witnessing the filing process your only other constant throughout the dream is a notebook. Like you are journalist on assignment and there at the gates of your own soul to take some notes... but the notebook keeps dissapearing... only to reappear somewhere else. Searching in dreams signifys our attempt to find a solution to a problem. Searching for an item, rather than a person in a dream is a symbol that there is something we want, or need that we have yet to find. HOwever, because you do keep finding your notebook, it is clear you are receiving bits of information to help you attain and move towards the enlightnment you seek.

"I thought i'd get to know these girls out the back, i thought twice about asking them if they'd seen my notebook, as they were acting 'too' nice to me, and i thought i would befriend them to investigate."

Have you made two new friends lately who seem to share insights and interests that you hold dear?

The Faetal position reveals itself as another constant thread running through the filing....such an image in a dream suggests the need for a reconnection to purity. The need to be cleansed in some way, but also someone who can reconnect with their child-like nature once more. It is a matter of trust

The car in a dream is always a symbol of our own control over ourselves in our waking world. To be a passanger in your own car, suggests that you may have allowed yourself to be carried along by cirsumstances that you now feel are beyond your control, and not planned for all eventualities before jumping into such a new endeavour - perhaps the connection here to the fetal newness of a new project.

To dream of a nose signifies curiosity and also intuition. Freud believed the nose was a symbol for a penis when seen in dreams, Karl Jung did not... To see the nose full of hair is funny because universally, hair in a dream represents strength and verility.

Is there a man at the helm of your life who needs to back off a bit. Or one in the past who didn't back off in time?

Putting this very complex dream all together Lilly suggests to me that you have a trauma that is now ready to clear from your system into the "so what" Basket and you are about to step up from the mundane, back into the world of the enlightened and confident Lily of the past. Either way this dream signifies amazing new inspiration about to hit you full on! Many of the minor symbols present throughout this dream sequence suggest new confidence is on the way to you. Particularly the notebook as it is your strength to write about your experiences and am I right in saying you prefer to write on paper than on the keyboard, where you feel less intimate with it? Are you a bit reclusive too, so many in here are, surprise, surprise...!

Not surprising that you've docked at a writers Blog Community.... Amongst Friends...(?)

However, I strongly feel you are clairvoyant and not yet able to distinguish between where you stop and other's start. You must develop your gift and get some books on Psychic Protection. Find out which Angels protect, Michael and Garielle are Arch Angels who can help. Surround yourself with white light and see Homer's interpretation in previous Worst Nightmares post for a protection pouch to help keep you insulated against the tides of energy now pouring in, some of it not wholesome.

I hope this helps you progress...

Yes, I have a couple ideas that might offer some guidance...

Fistly though, you say you are in a room... can you elaborate on the room to give me more clues?

Is it dark or light, furnished or plain, windows? Doors? Can you remember how you got there..? Is it a familiar room - one you've been to before, perhaps? Is the room in a house you recognise easily?

Hi there Lilla,
this dream is realy not quite nice and I've changed my Orble Tag cause I want to stay annonymous.
Actually, come to think of it, I have a recurring dream I shall reveal before I go on. I often have a dream that people are invading my home. They let them selves in to the house and take over. It has lessened in the recent past as I have gotten more self confidence. But it has not gone away. It usualy occurs when I am having an afternoon nap.

Back to last night... I remember that I was out in a large building and I was with my old neighbor from across the road. I travelled on a train back to her house. It is two story and I was left down stairs as she went off to do something. I had dirty clothes on and had to change. Her husband came in and offered to wash my things. I talked to him for a while and went into a corner to get out of my dirty clothes. I realised I had nothing else to put on and before I got undressed asked for a towel. I returned to my corner, which was closed off on one side for privacey. It faced the back door. I looked up after taking off my jacket and found myself stuck by fear and shock as their dog was having oral sex with me. It was repulsive and invasive and I was realy scared because if it bit me I'd be in big problems. I managed to get free just before a young man who worked for my neighbors came around the corner. I found myself only in a tee-shirt. I pulled it down to cover myself and lept about looking for that towel. I grabed it, he was just grinning that grin One makes when they see someone else embarrased. I took my dirty clothes, put them back on and fled the scene.
I awoke from this dream deeply disturbed. I have for days now been having disturbing dreams but none to this extent.

I am female and in my early 30's. I don't like Sigmond Fraud and don't want to sleep with my father, brother or any dogs for that matter.

Thanks
Cosmo

Dear Cosmo,

Before I deal with your unique set of symbols, I’d like to talk generally about Sexual Dreams…

SEXUAL DREAMS : Amongst the more primitive tribal people on the planet, sexual dreams usually appear around the various times when ‘rites of passage’ ceremonies are being performed. In our metro sexual world, such passages are no longer celebrated. However , they do not cease to exist because they are not openly observed. For women the phases are : puberty, maidenhood, motherhood and the integration of the wise one, the old crone. Sexual dreams often occur and re-occur when such passages are morphing from one personality into the other.

As for Siggy (loved your play on words), we must give him some credit because we do possess an animalistic biological side to our nature which he based much of his research on. I admire his tenacity to try and unravel the mysterious connexions between family members, as well as the Animus and Anima… the male and female aspects of individual androgyny … which must be in balance within ourselves first before we can attempt successful relationships “across the border,’ so to speak. He noticed that dreams are often a mechanism we use to do just that… balance inner opposites.
Your dream is interesting…although sketchy and I’ve based much of this interpretation on the fact that youknow both the friend and her husband in the waking world.

Your friends/neighbours house (which is bigger than yours) is a sign of a need of change in your life. Buildings represent the structure we have in our daily lives. Things like our beliefs and perceptions, ethics and morals… Are you being influenced by a friend in some matter concerning the decisions you are making with your body…Had you recently had children… (or decided not to) and talked to her about it?

Her husband is someone who has disturbed you greatly. He is attractive to you and although we are not meant to be with everyone we find attractive, there are those who come into our lives to presage (trigger) the time for us to move on through a rite of passage… they stir our unconscious minds with intensity, forcing us out of either complacency or apathy, to be more truly who we are. Either way we are seemingly exposed and pushed out of our comfort zone for a time...

Is this dream a reflection of a friend in the waking world whose husband … makes you feel…well, uncomfortable?

Any man that you know (in the waking world) appearing in a woman’s dream is a symbol of the logical side of your nature… it’s saying you need to develop the masculine aspects of assertiveness in the outside world…. But in wanting to take your clothes, this association and symbol is here to make you realise self actualisation through being only yourself. Because the man knows you and you trust him with your clothes… it suggests that you would like to get to know this man better in the waking world….

(Please check Jessica’s dream interpretation above for ‘dirty clothes.’)

The sudden switch to the train at this time is confirmation …. catching a train in dreams represents our attitude to social behaviour and relationships with other people. You are on cue; do not worry, because missing the train here would have been far worse.

Nakedness in any dream is linked to our desire to be honest and open. But to be embarrassed of our nudity in a dream suggests problems with self-image and self-expression in the waking world… and offers you a clue as to which area you need to assert yourself more. Nudity in dreams shows a need to be seen for what we are. Being naked also ties in with a new start or a pending …rebirth, often – for women - eventuating through giving birth.

Are you frightened of being misunderstood by a friend, or have you been in the past.? Is a friends Husband giving you concern as to his real feelings towards you… or visa versa?

Appearing in a woman’s dream the vagina is a powerful symbol of receptivity and again alludes to matters of self image. You mention fear of the dog biting you, which is very important because it signifies what frightens you about yourself the most... Is it self trust or your intuition? Intuition can be scary if for example you are pregnant and it has shifted to full throttle and you notice the true intentions of people…. It is common amongst sensitive women. But also a rite of passage by the mid-thirties in those who have light-work to do

Do you recognise the dog as one you’ve owned yourself…? A threatening dog in a dream signifies someone in our waking world whom we feel we won’t be able to get rid of and who will be trouble…

Is this your intuition being receptive to someone’s true feelings… and you can’t tell your friend? Don't worry The door is always there and to see it assures you there is always a way out...oddly enough Freud believed that doors appearing in dreams represented openings to the body, by default, ones sexuality and how we let people approach us...

The second man appearing is the key to whole dream and says to me that someone who has made you feel uncomfortable either in the past or in the present was / is a passing through in order to shake you into a deeper understanding of who you are… and someone special is coming along to appreciate it, very soon. The fact that he’s laughing is wonderful for both of you… because it signifies joy and a release of tension… he sees your struggles and can help you with them.

I don’t know if you have a partner or not, but you didn’t say whether you recognised the second man or not… if you do perhaps your current (or soon to meet) boyfriend or husband will give you more space…. To develop the honesty within what a single T-shirt allows… either way, a laughing man suggests a patient one.

In your early 30s you are passing from the biological and metaphysical age of maiden to motherhood, with or without children and that will cause a series of sexual dreams to occur.

Try to keep a dream journal and get a good dream dictionary... or just come back and visit me from time to time, you are most welcome...

God bless,
Lilla...

Lilla,
Sorry it took so long to respond...to answer your questions:

No, I am always sleeping in my dream. I then start to hear these voices, (and I swear this has nothing to do with my name on Orble and I am not being silly),- start to speak to me. I am laying in the same bedroom I have now, there are two fairly large windows. Sometimes, I can see faces with the voices but I do not recognize any of them and I do not understand what they are trying to say to me...like I said earlier, it is as though they have been talking for awhile and I am suddenly aware of it and just catch middle phrases, etc.

I went through a period of time when this dream happened every night...I have not had it in several months and I have always been curious about it.

Thanks,
Voices~

Hi Voices,

Lovely to hear yours again…

Firstly, let’s look at the bedroom as a symbol in a dream - as it signals a place of safety, I’m reprinting Johanna’s interpretation here as it relates in exactly the same way… up to the point of the intrusion… which for her is the clawing fingers… for you the voices…

Classically when a bedroom appears in a dream it represents a place of safety. A place that we feel we can be as open and sensual as we want to be. How that translates to the daytime in classic Freudian interpretation is clear that you need time alone.

Drinking lots of water is helpful to anyone in a stressing situation, anytime.

Now to the voices, voices… and it gets very interesting here…

If, for example we had one voice only and it was speaking very clearly to you, (as in JoshZ’s Angel) or someone, then I would go towards the psychic side of your nature and say you were probably developing clairvoyant traits and or someone was communicating with you… but it is not clear and there are many, indistinct voices… all foreign…. signifying that the area of concern tends more to the psychological interpretation… This is that when you suppress certain parts of your personality, they will surface in dreams as disembodied, strange voices...sometimes whispers and threats...

If the language you hear is truly a foreign language you cannot understand because it is foreign and you are aware of it being so, then the symbology suggests further, that there is something within you which you still do not understand. Unfortunately, it means you still have some mistakes to make before finding out what these things are. When a fresh new idea is taken on board it often presents itself through foreign language and / or jabbering within our dreams… then slowly but surely as we sort things out a series of increasingly clearer words start to be better understood. Pay really close attention next time and don’t be afraid, see if you can catch a single word and make it legible…then come back and tell me, or check it in your dream dictionary..

Without knowing what the actual words are that you do catch, I cannot go deeper on this one…the answer to ridding yourself of this dream lies in you reclaiming the parts of yourself you have abandoned in some way and mastering patience, whilst new ideas are integrated and remould outworn belief patterns. Try very hard to bring your attention back to your NOW time... try some yoga or meditation if you are not already practicing such things...

I hope it's a good thought for you voices,
Lilla....

Dear Lilla,
Thankyou for the interpretation. I have had a think about what you have said. A couple of things I should say. I'm a single mum, I haven't had a boyfriend in around 3 1/2 years. The couple in the dream were aquaintence neighbors and I moved away from them in June. I wasn't attracted to the husband, however they worked for themselves and I did enjoy the eyecandy of their young shirtless employees comming back from a hard days work.
I had a deeper think about it though. Is it possible that this couple could represent another couple I knew 5 years ago? I had an affair with a man around the same age as my neighbors (mid fortys). I know in a Christian sence thats bad and it did stuff up lives, however I knew him from past lives and had a soulmate connection to him. I am certain of this as I am very in touch with my intuition. At the time I used to get alot of dreams where I would meet with his wife at a soul level. She was not happy in some, but over all, she knew that I was a vehicle for change and this was forcing them to re-think their direction in life. (both were in a rut and he was a waste of space)
I am still dealing with issues from this relationship as he enacted his sexual abuse from his father's best friend as a child onto me. He was difficult to get rid of out of my life and the pain and humiliation and distrust of men still lingers. I know I should not have had the affair, however, now both of these people are living full, productive lives as a result. Could this have something to do with the couple in my dream? After all, She and I did get on the train together, go back to her house, where she left me with her husband.
I also have a body image problem, I guess. After having my children, my stomach around my pelvic reagon is saggy. I have lost dramatic weight and it still hasn't changed. One of the reason I shy away from intimacey with men is because I feel that they will compair me to other women who have not had kids.
The other thought I had is that my close friend, speakes very negativley to me about the way I wear my make-up, hair, my shoes and my clothes. Its gotten to the point that I just don't tell her if I've bought anything new cause I know she's gonna bag it. In her eyes I feel like the ugly unstylish duckling. She has an ex-boyfriend who has remained friends with her and as a result I too have become friends. I have found myself attracted to him on a few occasions. She would totaly loose it if I acted on that. And, yes, it makes me feel uncomfortable because I am embarased to reveal my body. I think he has an attraction toward me too which makes me step back. I never want to be in the same situation as I was with my last boyfriend. I guess thats why I cut for it in the dream at the end.
The part about going through a life change is interesting, because I am currently undergoing family therapy for my issues with my kids father and my last boyfriend. I want to get away from the past. I know I have a huge future ahead, but I am so confronted by my issues that I cannot see how I would have anything to say. My ambition is there, but I am wading through mud to get there.
I am angry at, and afraid of, men. They are so jugemental of women and our bodies. I cannot see myself with someone else, but if you feel it to be true, he would have to be an exceptional individual to find the doorway into my heart.
Thank you so much Lilla,
Cosmo xxxxx

Cosmo,

Thank you for the beautiful feedback. It makes it all worthwhile. Yes, very much to both your questions and situations and particularly to this latest one, indeed. Remember what is in the past, is in the past. Learn from it and let it go… move on. Your dream is a positive sign that your subconscious is nudging you forward to full self acceptance and that the laughing man is certainly there for you when you reach it. Give yourself time and try to focus on a new project, perhaps a new passion like scrap - booking, cooking or something along those lines… your dream suggests that the rest is working out for you just fine…

Good Luck
Lilla…

Hey Lilla,
This is a bit of an old post I realise but I have two dreams from my childhood that I remember vividly to this day and was wondering if you had any answers:
The first was a recurring dream, I used to have quite often. I would dream I was waking up in my bed and my room was full of writhing snakes. They covered every space of the bedroom floor and were so deep that they nearly touched the top of the bed. I could never get out of the room as the door was always closed and normally the bed was on the other side of the room so I couldn`t get to it anyways.
The scond dream I ad only once, but it is one I will never forget. I dreamed that I was sleeping and woke to a noise outside my room. My curtains were gone and there was a man standing at my window on a step ladder staring at me while I slept. He was wearing overalls and wore glasses. I could describe his face clearly but he is a man I had never seen nor have I ever seen him.
So those are them! Of all the dreams that I have had these two stick out the most!

Hi Ash,

good to see you here, let's see what these dreams mean...

DREAM 1 - Snakes in Bedroom

Snakes are a primal force and appear in dreams at that time in life when the dreamer is trying to come to terms with the more instinctive parts of themselves. Inevitably, this has to do with the recognition and harnessing of energies which have been suppressed and thwarted. Since the most primal urge is sexuality, the image of the snake is the most primitive one available. I'm afraid Ash, that in a woman's dream snakes manifest if she is afraid of sex, or sometimes her own ability to seduce others. A serpent may also appear in religious guise from it's long association with the Garden of Eden and represent that which is real, or perceived temptation...often the trigger for the manifestation of the serpent in the first place... both being one and the same in the case of sexuality.

I would say the dream came at a time when you were developing sexually, Ash - probably afraid of your own power, whilst learning to use it in loving, natural ways - especially if it was a taboo subject within your childhood environment.

DREAM 2 - Man at window with glasses.

This sounds like a visitation to me from a distant relative, do you remember anything special happening within the following few weeks after the dream (?)...

... otherwise in the real sense of mundane dreaming the symbols are as follows;

Bedroom - Always the place of safety, from within, where we are comfortable.

Window - looking out to the world we live in... blocked by a male stranger...

Male in Woman's Dream - A man in a woman's dream signifies the logical side of your nature. He shows you that you can develop all the aspects of the masculine which enable you to function with success in the external world, but leave you blocking in the internal feminine one. However, because this man was a stranger, the dream is reflecting that very part of the dreamer's personality which is not recognised ...

Glasses - suggest trying to see more clearly that which we are only partially accepting about ourselves or our relationships to others...we see glasses when we are trying to establish a better connection to our understanding... spiritually spectacles urge us to take a different viewpoint - on both a spiritual and physical level.

Overalls - suggests protection against emotional onslaught.

Ladder - in dreams suggests how secure we feel in moving from one situation to another. Sometimes it indicates that we must make considerable effort to reach a goal or to take an opportunity. Ladders often occur in dreams around career changes, and so have obvious connotations. If someone else is carrying the ladder, it suggests that maybe a colleague or other-person has some part to play in our progress.

Putting all together Ash, (and without knowing if this man was friendly of scary)...

I believe you were at a crossroads in your life. Maybe around late teenage at the stage of working through unusual childhood conditions and/or the need to engage in your first [or deeper] romantic encounter. A dominant male attitude had conditioned you to thinking logically, but your feminine side was trying to emerge and make 'meaning' out of the structures that had been enforced upon your way of looking at the world. Spiritually the ladder and glasses offer the best clue to your growth taking place and progress as you pushed forward to discover clarity and spiritual growth, using the wisdom and guidance of the significant male in your life, as a 'safety net' to step forth from, in exploring your new world.

If he was scary, then perhaps the means of impeding your progress; and friendly, as a guide in helping you attain the 'next level,' either way, you had to push through the safety of your 'bedroom' on your own...especially if the dreams occured in the same order as listed.

I hope this helps you remember Ash and move even further forward towards your true potentials in life... love it, live it, my friend...

Lilla....

Hi Lilla,
Thanks very much for that. I have read it a few times to let it all sink in and the more that I think about it the more that they start to make sense.
I had them a very long time ago so I cannot remember exactly what was going on around the time, but generally I can place them within a time frame and relate to your analysis of them both.
Thanks once again, you were very helpful!!!!!
Have a great one

Hi Lilla,
I have a recurring dream that varies each time but always is the same basic 'storyline.' There is a man or a group of men chasing me. It's usually to kill or rape me, or both. I do a lot of hiding and running away in the dream, which seems to go on for ages. I'll often wake up before an outcome is reached but sometimes in the dream I will be forced to kill the perpetrator or he will kill me. Some of them are pretty disturbing and vivid so I'd love to know what it means.
Great blog by the way!

Hi Candice,

To start at the beginning on this one, for a woman to dream of a man is very often no more than a representation of the logical side of her nature. Having said that, experiencing brutality in any form in our dreams is a frightening thing until we realise that we are merely connecting into the darker, more non-logical, ‘animal side’ of our selves. Unrestrained passion – whether sexual or any other sort, commonly appears as brutality and/or cruelty in our dreams…

This is magnified by your being chased and trying to escape, which usually turns up in dreams when we are trying to escape responsibility in some way. Being chased is a common dream symbol that reflects our own sense of failure and emotions that we feel we cannot handle.

Is there a new man on the scene, or does a love affair feel a little overwhelming. Is someone pushing you further than you want to go - or pulling on different morals than your own - when this dream occurs?

Any shelter where you can hide out signifies protection. You are aware of a need for a safe space, and this symbolism comes across in your dream quite strongly when you are 'hiding out.'

To find a place to hide out safely is showing you that you are aware there is a protective presence in your life that you can use, magnify and build on… but to eventually be ‘flushed out’ signifies that the protective influence can only take you so far too, eventually you must stand and live within your own parameters.

To eventually come to a situation where you are in a fight for your survival signals that you are trying to confront your own need for independence and what it entails to you. However, to actually kill your opponent is a disturbing sign of failure in dealing with your anger and frustration. The scene you witness is saying that you must find a more constructive way to deal with your anger and frustration, least it turn into a subconscious desire to hurt ourselves with destructive behaviour.

The whole ‘fight scene’ in a dream when taken in response to self defence is a clear signal that we are feeling threatened [often by our own emotions] in our daily lives and must address the situation that is threatening us … quite simply put, a spiritual conflict needs subtle ‘fine tuning.’

Your murder scene is vague and so I can only offer a general description. The murder weapon and if there is blood around are very significant, however to actually kill someone in a dream is the reflection of our attempting to stop the invading, overwhelming influence over the dreamer in the waking life, but as I said not the most effective way of dealing with the frustrations.

To be killed by the intruder represents the opposite - the ultimate sacrifice of self to the complete influence – usually external – which is making you [the dreamer] ineffective in everyday life.

Killing is an extreme answer to a problem ether way. It is such a final act that in dreams it can often represent the dreamer’s perception of the need for violence, often against himself.

This disturbing dream is clearly showing you that someone is encroaching on your space and ideals and you may need to push back a little more to create room to think things through.

Is there a clash here of your parents / partners wishes and ideology against your own?

Are you trying to balance your need for unrestrained passion against your logical need for your own conscience of perceived morals of right and wrong… are they your morals or someone else’s values?

Ask yourself: Is there really a point where passion can go too far? Identify that point as your barrier and live within it.

Candice, this is a scary dream whichever way you look at it because you are dealing with intrinsic ethics of morality, as you perceive them and as they must guide your life … there is a strong feeling here of your morals being manipulated by someone in the background.

Hopefully I have shed enough light to enable you to gain the insight you need to take more control of it, if it occurs again.

Look for a changed outcome in this dream the next time it occurs.

Love, light and laughter,

Lilla...

Hi again Lilla,

If you're flat out with other stuff feel free to ignore this one but I had an awful but vivid dream the other night that I thought you may be interested in analysing - and that I would love to know the meaning of.

I dreamed I had just had a second baby. I was in the hospital room when my obstetrician came to give me a routine check-up. He said there was an unusual amount of swelling on the right side of my stomach. He said I would have to be airlifted to a hospital in Canberra (interstate).

My hubby came in and told me I'd had a baby boy. He was really excited. Then I told him that I had to be airlifted to hospital and his face crumbled.

I was in a waiting room at the hospital, waiting to be airlifted when I felt myself fading. Then I collapsed, falling onto the floor. My obstetrician came to my aid. It was then that I knew I was dying. My daughter came in and she started crying because she knew I was hurt. I told my obstetrician to take her to my mother (who was also at the hospital with my husband) because she shouldn't be seeing this. He wanted to stay with me in case anything happened to me but I insisted. He seemed to understand that I needed to know my daughter was looked after first and agreed to take her to my mum.

That was the end of the dream.

Hi Candice,

Not a problem, sorry for the delay though, I’ve been a bit busy elsewhere ...

Well, my dear, the waiting is certainly over whatever it is … dreaming of a birth indicates that a new way of life is about to (or has) begun, either literally or through a new way of thinking, belief or project.

Psychologically a dream of birth is a sure-fire sign that we are coming to terms with our existence. *woo hoo* Let’s see how you need to care and nurture this ‘new life,’ in order to find fulfilment, shall we?

When a dream focuses on the abdomen there is a strong need to focus on your feelings and repressed emotions. The swelling indicates a bubble of something brewing, way-down within, festering your independance in some way?

It will need lancing Candice, to allow it to heal… I’ve got a feeling someone needs to be put in their place here… we’ll see who…

Your feelings of your own sexuality will surface in a dream as your relationship with your husband or partner. Inadequacies within the dreamer will surface as fears of loss, death or unfaithfulness of your husband. Whereas a baby boy, is your own feelings of sexuality saying to you; it is time to deal with a suppressed part of your development.

Are there areas you and your partner could explore further, but you feel wrong to go there because of family ideology or parental control? Or visa versa, your family values do not support your partner’s ideals in this area – perhaps the number of children you should be having in this lifetime? When to have another one? Do you feel you need a break?

Too much? Yep, so you collapse again under the weight of fighting the emotion?

The Obstetrician appearing and disappearing in and out of this dream is a curious male/hero/stranger. [I do not know if you know him in real life, so will assume you do not].

A Doctor of any kind indicates a strong need to cut away that part of yourself that he represents, in this case, it is again a reference to your femininity. That which makes you a woman. An unknown man also signifies that part of the dreamer which is still unknown.

Like the final decision over how many children to have or which familial values are the best for your new family?

Too much again?

So, you finally feel like you are going to die. This is a really good thing Candice, trust me. It means you are looking at reality in order to gauge the outside parameters of your decisions. You are preparing your “case.”

To feel yourself slipping away in a dream is saying that you are exploring your own feelings about death. Required reflection in order to fully live. It indicates that the challenge of life has caused you to split between mind and body. This part of the dream is showing you the means of your own individual argument. It is saying that your death [in a dream] could be the transition from the gross physical to the more spiritual side of yourself. Sometimes you will die many times in dreams in order to make a spiritual step forward in the waking world. Have no fear of it.

Be aware your values about sex, life, death and marriage may be shifting?

Your daughter is highlighted in dreams [especially in a woman’s dream] as a powerful message of a support and her appearance, often strangely represents the outcome of a relationship between husband and wife, favourably.

Are there some issues of jealousy and rivalry that need attention?

Ending with your mother is the Ace card of this dream. The trump because when she materialises in our dreams it a sure fire way of telling us that we are dealing with relationships coloured by her views. Often, if you’ve been pushed into caring for a needy male, or forming relationships with both men and women which do not meet your basic needs, know now that, as soon as you have come to terms with them, you’re on your way to your own spiritual success.

Are you living out a part of your mother’s life, Candice? Do you need to liberate yourself and your daughter from outworn emotions that may not be yours?

Do you find your partner too needy or uncommunicative sometimes?

Whichever way, your dream is telling you that your daughter is an ally and that you must make the stand yourself and come to terms with your relationships.

The fact that she was crying in your dream is a warning (perhaps the one you need), that to see her in tears, it is time to look at our own conduct to make sure it is appropriate.

Are you forcing your values onto your daughter, as your mother forced them onto you?

Have you and your partner considered your daughters opinion in all familial decisions?

A very positive dream, give yourself time...
I wish you love, light and laughter

Lilla

Hi Lilla,

Thanks so much for that extensive analysis. Who would have thought there was so much in such a short but upsetting dream?

A lot of your analysis made sense to me and has made me think about a few things.

perhaps the number of children you should be having in this lifetime? When to have another one? Do you feel you need a break?

Like the final decision over how many children to have or which familial values are the best for your new family?

Yes, this is a big issue to me as my hubby and I are starting to consider having a second baby. We are worried about my health if we went ahead because the first birth was difficult and I still have related health issues. I also received a couple of very clear messages, I guess you'd say from the spiritual, before I had my first baby. Couldn't be more clear as it was said as "you can only have one baby." Still, I don't like the idea of my daughter being an only child and would love another. Anyway, is something to think more about.

Much as I don't like to admit it to myself I do have some issues with my mother's involvement in my own parenting. She lives very close by and has made a few comments lately that I've been upset by and she does try to enforce her views on me. We are pretty agreeable but I think she can also be quite judgemental of my decisions re: parenting.

The obstetrician in the dream was the actual obstetrician I had for the birth of my daughter.

There are a lot of other interesting parts in there but I could ramble on forever. I'm glad to hear I'm moving on to other things too and that the dream is positive overall. Thanks again.

Candice.

Hi Lilla
You must absolutely hate getting emails from me now ( I can hear the LEY being put on my name as you read this!!!!) *lol* a hindrance I am sure but I find all of this fascinating...maybe I should just look into it myself (yes she nods in approval )

last night my sister and I had almost exactly the same dream. When I spoke to her this morning I nearly fell over!!! Often her and I will come out with the same saying at exactly the same time so I know that we are in sync but to come out with the same dream??? I tried looking back on your past posts and I could not find a place for this interpretation......

Both of us dreamt that we were in our home town in Zimbabwe. Both of us dreamt of completely different people however they were in a house that was on fire and burning to the ground and we could not wake them up. We both stood over the respective peoples beds and tried to wake them up but they were not interested. My sister dreamt of her dad (my step dad) and I dreamt of our maternal grandmother (who passed away 10 years ago)

Sorry to bother you with all of these and don`t feel the pressure to answer straight away - just when you have time. I need you to be a personal dream interpreter I think...do you take cash or credit card *lol*

have a good evening
ash (LEY)

* later * I think Ihave the general gyst of the dream:

fire = cleansing?
previous home burning = getting rid of past beliefs, moving away from parental taught beliefs, making new and personal paths?
father = authority, need for protection?
grandmother = nurturing, unconditional love?
deceased person = current situation a relfection of values they represented whcih need addressing?
why we dreamt the same thing on the same night = we are mentally in sync with each other? and both at the same crossroads? or one helping the other out?

Ash,

I love getting notes and comments from you, and looking things up for yourself is comprehensive, but you’ve pretty much summed it up yourself and saved me a mountain of work, after all.. Well done!.

One thing about your grandmother visiting though, I don’t feel it was a two dimensional thing. I believe it was a visitation of her spirit for a ‘family gathering’ to offer her comfort and presence when you need it most.

Try to remember any words she said and take them literally as if she had spoken them to you in person (still alive).

Congratulations and good luck on travelling your new pathways…

Hello everyone,

I have a reoccuring dream that occurs in two different ways:

The first is, I am in either my elementary school or high school and I've missed several classes, or haven't taken the required classes, so I fear I won't be able to graduate.

The second is, I am in my elementary school or high school and I can't find my classes in the school building... the school appears as a maze of some sort.

In real life, I am a college graduate, and working in my desired profession, so I wonder what this dream is about... I've had it for over 15 years.

Is it a fear of failure? Or a motivation reminder?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hello School Dream,

Dreams of being at school are interesting for many reasons, mainly because we all have them from time to time and they form an important part of everyone’s lives

You are right in assuming that because you are currently studying, these ‘symbols’ are coming up to mirror them. Dreaming about schools is all about learning new skills and abilities… exactly what you are doing, right?

Ironically, dreams of schools usually appear when we are re-learning how to deal with our personalities, usually outside of the family and within new groups. They most likely appear when we are trying to get rid of old outmoded ideas and concepts previously formed within the family unit.

The fact that you cannot find the classroom, suggests that you may not even have established which old behaviour patterns are not serving you any more, and need to be gotten rid of.

Are your core familial beliefs and customs being challenged?

Being ‘in class’ in a dream, is indicative that you arel learning different ways of dealing with authority and your own feelings of inadequacy in dealing with it.

The fact that you are sometimes in the wrong class room, does indeed indicate that you don’t feel you will be able to find the right ‘information’ within yourself, to cope, and overcome the new learning curve your personality is undergoing – to a successful graduation.

The good news here SD, is that the fact that you are having dreams about school, whilst ‘at school,’ meaning that you are also processing the new information at a subconscious and astral levels...

Being late for class in your dreams again points to you feeling that you are unprepared for something in your life to happen, again look at where fixed attitudes may now need to become flexible or abandoned completely.

It sounds to me that you have nothing to fear, but fear itself and that you will do fine… you are already on the case.

I would suggest you focus on ways of relaxing, like a guided meditation CD for 20 minutes each day, or take up Yoga once a week.

Pay attemtion too to the other little details around these dreams and note the ambient symbology present, like what you're wearing, colours, the weather, grass or concrete grounds... they will offer clues as to the areas where you need to make the adjustments.

Generically, buildings in dreams represent the constructions we make in our lives out of our experiences, perceptions and often from our family habits and customs. Again, at school you are learning to cope 'out of the family' in new groups and not finding the buildings at all, can be a sign that you don't feel you have enough of a foundation from a solid family background to help you cope with this course of study you have undertaken.

We are more than our families conditioning and when you do find yourself in a dream class room, take very good notice of they type building it is, with it I will be able to reveal all sorts of additional information that you can use to help you move through this 'phase.'

Happy Studies SD, you're doing fine, and I hope you find this interpretation helpful.

Wow! Thanks Lilla! That helped tremendously!

I never thought about it that way - I always looked at those dreams from a professional standpoint - I never concidered those dreams to be related to my personal transitions - as I have had continuous personal transition, in accepting the core aspects of my life (family structure, etc.) As well as growing & maturing, in effort to be my best self, master life's lessons and become one with my spiritual self.

Your interpretation makes lots of sense!

Thanks again!

Best!

Hi,
this is indeed fascinating to read!

I have had the usual gamut of dreams, and even a flying one, over countryside, on my own though, feeling ok, but having difficulty flying, a bit wobbly, later on, years later, I had some which were better and much more controlled with a feeling of exhileration and peace.

However, I have had a few 'visitations' over the years. This has happened while I was awake though...which I guess is not in your area. However, each visit was from a dearly loved friend who had recently passed away.

The strongest most overt 'visit' was one I shut down in 1993, because I got fearful. As I stood at the sink washing dishes, I looked up into the blackened night window, only a brick wall opposite, and a yellow field grew, by that I mean a blanket colour of yellow, and in the middle, as if on TV, from chest height up, appeared my friend, who had died three months beforehand. I instantly looked down into the dishes, then looked up again, and again it appeared and came closer, I immediately said I didn't want to be haunted, and it shut off.

To this day I regret doing that, for I feel he came to warn me, as at the time I was in great physical danger. I have always wanted to try and reach him again, but feel wary of this, because of an occult teacher I saw in 1975, who taught me for a year, and he said never do ouiji boards etc, calling the deceased back, because you force them to start again on their spiritual development, as you call them back to Earth, they cannot simply go back to the stage they were at, but must start again. Hence my reticence.

As regards a real asleep event, I was extremely depressed, some years after the yellow field appearance of my friend, and feeling terribly low, I fell asleep. During sleep I was aware of lying exactly where I was in bed, still feeling low, then my dear old pug dog Banjo appeared at the foot of my bed (who had died some years beforehand), she then walked up my body and lay on my chest and hugged me around the neck with her forearms, I then fell into a non dreaming sleep and awoke the next morning feeling a little better.

Interestingly, that Banjo event was in 1994 I think, and recently, someone else very close to me died. I awaited a visit, as has happened twice before with other very close friends, but nothing. Then two weeks ago, so about one month after her death, I heard a pug dog woof!

It was deeper and stronger than my current pug dog's bark, and it came from the hallway where the door was open, but my pug dog Stella was at my side in the kitchen...not in the hall...I thought I imagined it, but it happened again and again over the next few days. I then remembered that Banjo was an old friend of my dear friend Juanita, who also knew my current pug Stella, and loved to talk to them on the phone...amazing eh?

I sense I must follow a deeper understanding of the spirit world and enjoin it more, but have always shied away from it. How do I learn to trust it? How do I learn to safely come into contact? Who do I trust to show me? I just don't know.

Although, I am looking at Buddhism at the moment and have a Lama friend, who came to pray over my friend Juanita the day before she died, which was a promise I fulfilled for her, and for that I am grateful, as I have broken many promises to friends, but that one I made sure I kept. I also draped her with colourful Buddhist prayer banners, which, even in her terrible state, caused her to clutch them to her chest and squeal with joy before she then fell asleep.

Sorry...I have just blurted out this in a stream of consciousness..don't know why but I kind of felt you would not mind and may be able to help/advise me in some way?

Anyway, I apologize for taking up so much of your space and time.
regards,
fog

Hello, Lovely Lilla Lady -

I hate to disturb you while you're recovering, so please feel free to set this comment aside and tend to it ONLY when you're ready... I'm in no hurry.

I had a dream the other night, mighty powerful and well detailed. I posted it so I could go back in and try to break it apart, and in the comments section, I felt it worthy to note that I'd had a dream with something related a few days earlier.

The dream is posted here if you'd like to take a look, but that's not exactly why I'm coming to you now. Many of the details I can find in my own books or research, although I'd be delighted if you shared your opinion. However, the common thread in the two dreams was weather, and I'm having a bit of trouble locating what I need. I love your animals in dreams series and was wondering if you'd considered doing a series on weather phenomena and natural disasters.

In this dream, the issue was tsunamis, and there were at least 3 taking place in the one dream. The dream previous (which I haven't posted in public), it was tornadoes... four of them. Can you shed some light on the subjects of tsunamis and tornadoes in dreams?

Again... take your time, no rush, take care of you, there's no urgency here... just thought I'd toss it out here and see if ya wanted to play catch when you're feeling better.

Thanks,

W

Hi M/Fog,

Interesting experience. There is no doubt in my mind your experience was a visitation… and for future reference, anytime you become fearful, just pour white light into the room and around you, on the visitor too. If they are not of the light, they will disappear pretty quickly. Just glare at them and send them white light.

I wouldn’t regret anything, because everything happens in the right time it is supposed to. There will be other opportunities, don’t worry… perhaps in your dreams?

As did Banjo to comfort you, again no doubts to it being a visitation rather than a dream. You can search the meaning of Dogs in the Animals section of my blog, but you will also soon agree, that this was obviously more than just a dream.

Banjo waits for you, no doubts there either.

Bhuddism is a wonderful ism to be a part off. Certainly better than consumerism *lol* and I am happy that you had the chance to fulfil your promise. It is so vital in life to fulfil our promises and seek compassion… I believe it is truly the path to happiness.

You can seek out local spiritualist churches, or mediums working in these fields, even attending workshops to expand your psychic potentials is excellent for you as you already possess signs of a strong gift in this direction.

Try to view the video on my new post on An Ordinary Life <<HERE>>...you will need 1 hr and 27 mins, but it will be well worth it.

Love, light and laughter,

Hi Wendi,

I have copied out your dream and am working on it.. it is long, covers a bit of ground and may take a few days. Thanks for your patience.

You have surmised Tsunami’s as the fear of being swamped by emotions, but I want to look at it in relation to the other images around at the time..okay?

Meanwhile, please try to view the video on my new post on An Ordinary Life <<HERE>>you will need 1 hr and 27 mins, but it will be well worth it.

Have a look at the 10th comment (above) to Voices about hurricanes and Big Winds for further clues about tornadoes... I will look to see if I have any more info on them, too.

Cheers Wendi,

Thanks so much Lilla,

I really appreciated the time you gave me in responding, as I know you have been sick and are always in demand by Orblers.

Also, I much appreciated the detail you gave me.

I wish I had known about the "white light" before, that is a good trick indeed. I was only given advice to immerse myself and the room in blue light, when in Melbourne years ago, (when much of these events were happening), I don't know if it was significant or not, and it never felt quite right at the time.

Anyway, I was touched once, on the lower right calf, actually I was lying on my left side, with outstretched legs on top of each other, and I was in a blank state eyes closed, kind of a natural meditative state, and felt a hand begining to slide between my calves, I know, it does sound awful...a little Linda Blair-ish!! hehe!

I got a huge shock and jolted my legs up into a crouch position, but interestingly, I remained on the bed on my side, (it was daytime and I was on top of my bed) yet felt no fear. When things like this happen, I instantly and seemingly naturally, emit a strong energy, as I demand a stop to whatever it is, somehow that made me feel more in control.

I do not know if that 'investigative visit' was from a friend or not, somehow I didn't think so, as other things happened in that house, so I expect it may have been a resident passed on.

Oh, by the way, back during those days, about 1994-95, I awoke twice in shock from a 'dream', only to see white smoke swirling above my head, which emitted so much white light it filled the room, and after about two seconds faded, the room returning to darkness.

However, it was what I also saw, one of these times, above it on the ceiling that made me curious, a series of images presented themselves, as if an embossed plaster design in the ceiling, one was the head of a large looking healthy elk, maybe reindeer, with large antlers, the other was a bear, as in kodiak, or brown, or black bear and each animal was staring directly at me, I felt no emotion from them though. Odd eh?

I will poke around your site to see what the symbols may mean.

cheers again

fog

P.S. Sorry again! I promise I will resist dropping in long winded reminiscences in future...
well...I'll try to!! hehe!

Hi Lilla,

I read some of the older posts and saw that you had not been feeling well. Hopefully you are all better now!

I wanted to ask you another dream question...
I am trying to understand the concept of spirit travel while we are asleep. I am having instances, such as this, on a regular basis. So much so, that I can accurately recall things that are occuring while I am sleeping, from the transit of my spirit. Its not frightening at all - its actually kind of cool

I've also, traveled time periods, and to places that I've never been. Sometimes I wonder if its past life experences revisited, or simply dreams?

And sometimes, when I wake from sleeping, I can feel my entire body vibrating. Now this experience is kinda freaky - I definitely want to know why this happens!

Can you enlighten me on all of this?

Thank you so much!

Hi School,

Please excuse the delay in responding to you, but I have been unwell and flat-out by turns.

What you are describing to me, sounds like Astral projection or Astral Travel. Often this event occurs durin times of lucid dreaming or crisis.

My advice would be to get more information on Astral Travelling. Perhaps you could attend a work shop or two, on regression to past lives and/or astral travelling.

Try these links : <<HERE>>

and <<HERE>>

If you google Astral Travel and Lucid Dreaming, you should have enough material to read for a decade - certainly enough to give you an overview on what is happening to you.

Look for some sites and books on psychic protection too.

See you out there...

maybe you could help interpret? I've had the same dream several times a year for many years, although its really more of a nightmare, since in the dream i feel terrified and i wake up scared as well

The Dream:
i've just walked into my room and closed and locked the door… two seconds later i turn around just to find it open again. This inevitably scares me, making me wonder WHO or WHAT opened it. Then I wake up, with the same feelings of terror I felt in the dream.

I don’t know if it would be helpful to know but every time i walk through a door, i close and lock it behind me... its not out of fear its just a habit... my fingers do it automatically… I never even think about it… I only first realized that I did it when my parents started to complain. What are you're thoughts?

Anon,

Your timing is impeccable. I am just compiling the add-on chapter to my A-Z of Buildings in Dreams series, specifically about the Componenets of Buildings, amongst them – of course – Doors!

Being as it is, I won’t go into too much detail here, as you will be able to track it for yourself when I put the new post up (hopefully over the next day or two)… but primarily, suffice to say, that doors are about openings to the body. More specifically (front door ) the vagina and (back door) the anus.

I am not sure of your gender, but also seeing you hands in the dream (doing up the bolt, or lock) is very significant and you should look up Hands in Body Parts in Dreams <<here>>

Bolts / locks are showing you that somewhere you believed a sanctuary is no longer so for you. It’s about you loosing your ability to make your own decisions regarding your body, or that a course of action you have taken is not quite right.

To be locking the door yourself, suggests that you take time to contemplate your choices and actions… they may not be right for you. I have no doubts that someone Has, or is, threatening your sexuality… and your very right to ‘own’ it.

An intruder in your dream (real or imagined) trying to force the door (situation)… is a symbol that you feel threatened in some way. Again, not fully in control of your situation. If the intruder is masculine, it is a sign that you must defend yourself in some way.

Perhaps even consider psychic protection... Spiritually you may have put yourself in a situation to be open to desecration?

Our self is a sacred place and your space is being threatened.

I am assuming that this dream reoccurs and ask that you take note next time of which room you are locked in, or where you located in the building you are in… and what type of building it is, then go to that relevant section in Buildings in Dreams and again in the Components and Rooms of Buildings (about to be posted).

I hope that has helped you understand the terrible situation you are living with a little better ...

Peace to you.

Hi Lilla,
I had the weirdest dream last night. I haven’t been having such weird dreams for a very long time.

I shall start with whatever I can remember:
It started in a dinner gathering. I met with all my ex-high school classmates and we were all eating and catching up. Then when it was time for me to leave. And as I walked to my car park, I saw the sky was like still evening - blue and cooling. Then I realised that I was standing on a layer of ice. And the entire car park (open space car park) was a layer of ice.

As I walked I realised that it started cracking and I saw those that cracked and broke beside me did not show the ground, or water (like a thin layer of ice on the lake) below. Instead, what I saw was hollow underground. In my mind I knew it was deep as I could feel the wind was sucked in and the hole became bigger, from 1-foot diameter to expanding, slowly.

I hurried to my car (which is white – supposed to be manual gear) and I saw my friend (whom I was suppose to contact in real life to confirm my attendance to my friend’s farewell gathering this Saturday) also in a white car. I shouted at him to leave immediately and I hurried into my car. The whole place was started to shake like earthquake and I know that if I don’t move I’ll fall into that hollow gap below me.

When I started the car, I realised that my car became auto geared and I drove as fast as I can, heading straight to the gate out of the car park, which it looked untouched (no ice layer, green grass by the side, normal road). And there were people standing at the gate there. As I drove through the car park (which was quite big), I saw cracks everywhere and the trail behind be broke apart and all the thin layer of ice was falling deep into the hole that was getting bigger and bigger.

When I reached the gate, the whole place (the restaurant, cars) all fell into the great hole and I realised that there are other places around me was the same – cars, trees and people falling into the great big hole.

The road I was standing and many survivors by the side of the gate of the car park remain untouched.

The next thing I knew the scene changed. It’s like an aftermath of the earthquake. It was silent and some of those holes were filled with clear water. I manage to round my parents and two girls (I can’t remember their faces) and we sailed across the calm waters with the sailor of the boat.

I realised that 80% of the city was either great hole or filled with water.

Then when we finally reached to the other side we found the untouched area’s houses were still intact. But they are all old wooden houses. And the good part was electricity and water still running as usual.

I walked around the wooden house and saw the great hole (the ones without water) was very deep – perhaps 30 meters deep, like the Grand Canyon. Though it was deep it wasn’t dark. The earth was white in colour and I saw little streams below. But I also saw scattered lifeless body lied there, everywhere.

Then I saw those holes with water had many pilar of hands from land to the heavens. All the hands were holding each other. Some are grabbing by the wrist, some hand-in-hand, created a great trunk of hands reaching the heavens. All the hands are light green in colour.

I tried to take a photo down with my mobile phone but then I realised they do not show in the screen. The camera couldn’t take them. One of the pilar was beside me and I saw some hands were holding notes or books in their hands. When I touched one of the notes, it dissolves and the hand holding it also dissolves and disappears – particles flying up to the skies.

Then I woke up because the alarm rang.

Sorry this is really long but I am kind of confused what it is going on and perhaps from your expertise you can help me out.

Hi Jessica,

THis is a very long dream and the detail is quite amazing... you are going through some major changes and astrologically speaking there is much going on atm, that can be affecting eveyrone's dreams.

Jessica I will interpret the dream for you in due course... give me a few days as I am snowed under at the moment.

Jessica, I can’t see the table in your description but if you could see the table. Look <<here>>

I believe this dream a kind of “stocktake before big changes” when you will take a big step forward... Have you been offered a romantic, or a marriage proposal … started to think of leaving home?

Are you or your government, trying to break with tradition in some way?

This dream certainly marks big life changes on the way to you Jessica … and probably why it disturbed you… but remember even though the changes will contain all of life’s frustrations, there is much good too and overall, it is better to go forward than to try to maintain control in standing still. This is true even for governments and God knows they never want to go forward without maintaining control.

So, to start by looking at your dream, it seems you are community minded and very much a part of the ‘collective,’ until you head for the car. The car in our dreams is very important and you should read about cars <<here>> It means you are independently minded, perhaps a tad stubborn?

The dinner ‘group’ in this instance is your soul group. It is said that we reincarnate with the same people over and over again and indeed in Gypsy folklore to have such a dream, denotes that you will enjoy the hospitalities of those who are able to extend to you many pleasant courtesies, in years to come. You will always have good friends to help you, like me now, so rest your fears.

Evening, again confirms that the setting of the sun on a part of your life is upon you. Either way, evening signifies a need for some relaxation and time for yourself right now. Look <<here>> for the meaning of the colour blue.

You are skating on the thin ice of frozen emotion Jessica, and you must visit the dark hole because you must explore your subconscious mind, to thaw it. To see ice in your dreams means you are looking at a part of yourself which has become frozen … and the ice of frozen emotion and continual pleasantry must crack to reveal your shadows within the dark hollow.

This journey into the black hole is what will allow you to re-integrate the emotional responses into your personality to become whole. It is what keeps people strong in times of hardship. We are none of us, pure light. All must acknowledge our shadow-nature in order to harness it for good, least it rule us with endless fears and suffering.

You cannot drive your own car effectively until you do this. Why do you fear that you will not be able to survive in the dark hole should you fall in?

Any descent in a dream means that we are going to look for answers to a specific problem... and the darkness in a dream usually represents connection to the depressed, hidden side of ourselves that we donot yet know... pretty scary stuff huh

In dreams, the wind symbolises the intellect. It breathes the power of spirit and whispers the movement of life … and although they can be terrifying, earthquakes a wonderful warning! They alert us to the inner insecurity that we must deal with before it overwhelms us! They come to warn that old opinions, attitudes and relationships are breaking up and will give you some cause for concern.

You are changing, and there is to be a period of spiritual upheaval.

Returning to drive your white car (look <<here>> for white) speaks of your need to again escape in a perfectly pure state, totally in control. However, you must remember that white contains every colour, even the muddy ones, and eventually you will need to integrate them all.

There seems to me to be a clash here Jessica, between your passions and your need to live up to others expectations.

Driving through the gate reminds you (again) that change is required in life. The gate is the symbol for a change in awareness. It is telling you (again) that you are passing a threshold in life, moving from one phase of living (awareness), into another.

In olden days it would be considered a rite of passage and celebrated with ritual, and as such also stands as a way for you to now independently communicate with the spiritual realms, should you so wish. Remember: Ask and it shall be given.

The gateway is now open to do so, so you should have no fear to enter the big hole should it reappear, okay? Promise me, you’ll dive right in, but manifest a torch first, okay

It is a shame you didn’t take the time to stop and talk to the people at the gate, they may have held vital information for you? However, just seeing them there means you are questioning how you sit in your present society.

~ Scene Change? Not really… look at what I see …

The ice has melted and the holes have filled with water. You have recognised the frozen emotion in question, even if it is not clear to you in the waking sphere yet, it will be by the end of this dream...

What a lovely day for a sail! Boats are symbols of how we cope with our emotions and those of others, in this case your parents are with you, helping you ... or are they the hinderance to your progress with their projected fears of them dying, leaving you without a husband to care for you? … and as the boat is large enough to have its own skipper, again its about you ‘fitting’ into the group to keep the peace.

Boats are also symbols about our feelings of death and the final journey, as well as adventure and fertility. They can appear before a pregnancy, to augur the coming of the child and you may get news of a pending birth soon.

You may be fitting in Jessica, with the city and all its occupants, as I said earlier, not to make waves. To see the city in water confirms this and also means that you have now passed into the awareness of seeing people as they are… you see that everyone is half drowning in their shadows and emotions. You realise that we are all subject to our whims and nuances. However, standing knee deep here can suggest that a new tax or governmental decision has caused massive sadness throughout your entire community.

Sadly for you, to see the rubble of buildings means that you are still vulnerable to the thoughts and opinions of others to a very great degree. Sometimes earthquakes will destroy the things we fear to destroy through anger, which would show as an explosion.

To find the wooden houses still standing means you have allies. There are two people who feel exactly as you do (perhaps siblings?) ... and who will offer solace to your troubled state when the time comes … again as reflected in the dinner group ‘with you,’ (your spiritual family), there are many more. It is these people who will help you to go down into the hole because with them, it won’t be dark and scary, but light and white the way you need it to be, for you and as it now presents itself in your dream.. a chance for you to catch the true reality of your unconscious fears.

To have seen the corpses at the bottom of the pit gives your first clue that you have found your fear, it is of dying and going to hell, or of those you love dying and leaving you alone. Unfortunately, overall corpses mean a period of unhappiness whilst you wrestle with your doubts … not a good time for creativity, or business.

Jessica, there is a bit of prophecy here in this dream in that this piece of the dream again nags at some dissatisfactions of a political nature, with some unrest between countries?

Look up the meaning of hands <<here>>and again the colour green <<here>>

But it looks as thought this last set of symbols is saying that (if the hands are open) justice will prevail, and if they are linked, that friendship will be your main salvation. Either way, balance here will eventually be restored, to both the political situation and in your life, no matter how gloomy the situation.

You will find telephone meanings <<here>> but it looks like you are trying to communicate something to yourself in the form of a captured image .. but cannot, and when a camera appears in a dream, it is saying that you must remain watchful… you do and notice that hands hold books.

Here you face your need to gain wisdom through knowledge, both by reading and possessing the ability to learn from other people’s experience and opinions, as well as delving into the Akashic records of humanity through spiritual practices … but beware that you check all the information and not just take it on blind faith. The hands hold the things you need and you must reach out for them ..seek and you will find, they say.

Again the hands reaching up in a pillar to the sky?

Well hands are about being creative, and in a Freudian interpretation (at its most basic) pillars are a phallic symbol, which once again touches on the hidden passion, but doesn’t really help, does it? However pillars also represent support, and to climb to the sky is indicative of misplaced ambition, because no matter how much effort we make, we cannot make the sky tangible, nor the Heaven of the Bible.

We must all possess shadow natures and eventually die. However, the hands of the community do require you to become a part of the rebuilding, and you have many creative talents to offer once the shadow is integrated.

You must take rest and relaxation and perhaps a strong re-commitment to some meditation, to cleanse your troubled mind, my friend.

I hope that helps Jessica?

Lilla …

Hello,

I had a weird dream the other night that I really need interpreted please. Basically it begins like this: Last semester of college I had a class with this one guy, which I may add wasn't all that bad looking, but I must also add that both sexes know when he/she sees someone of both sexes as "attractive"; however, this does not make he/she gay or bi.

Anyways, the semester ended about 1.5 months ago, and that was the last time I saw him. We weren't friends or anything, but only had the same speech class together, which had only about 25 students in it.

Basically, I had a random, lucid, and clear dream of me (a guy) kissing him (also a guy). In this dream the kiss was so real: To where the sensual feelings seemed to have been real on my own lips. Also, while we were kissing, it was a very sensual, slow, and passionate type of kiss. Then after the kiss, which I seemed to have liked alot in my dream, I remember us getting up, and then I introduced him to my family (who popped out of nowhere)--- Primarly my brothers, I may add. Furthermore, I have a gay younger brother who in the dream introduced himself to the guy. Ironically, in the dream I was trying to keep what me and this other guy did, and how we felt for each other, a secret. But for some reason, my younger brother found out this guy's sexual orientation, which I may add: He was not gay in wake life and didn't have an ounce feminine personality in wake life.

I remember kind of freaking out, and saying to him (my gay brother) in the dream, "yeah, he's only my friend."

Then all of a sudden me and this guy (the one from my class), we are sitting in a restaurant setting, and I had told him I had to stop this and I left. I felt so hurt because in the dream I liked him so much. Then after I left, I saw him sad and kind of down, as if he really liked me.

Now my question to you is this: Why am I dreaming about a guy, if I, myself, am a guy too? Also, why am I dreaming of this guy whom I hadn't seen in about 1.5 months, and whom I haven't had any personal connection to? Why did I like the connection we had in the dream, and why did it make me so happy? What is the meaning of this dream?

PLEASE HELP!

I am sorry for the delay, I didn;t want you to think I had abandoned you... at a quick glance, this dream has really positive connotations, don;t worry.

Hi Dallas Boy,

I hope you can forgive me for taking so long to get back to you on this one... I went on tour and then I forgot, after I accidentally erased your notification email (which is what I use to remember which post someone needs an interpretation)... my most profound apologies.

Oooh I just love kissing dreams, especially the ones that leave my lips tingling...((laughs)) how exquisite, it really is as good as the real thing... till you wake up that is!

I guess then we should start by looking at kissing... and you can get some background info about such sexy activity and why we dream it <<here>>

Suffice to say, that it usually is our subconscious trying to point out to us that we are in need of some of the real thing. For you, a real attention grabber was to make it with another guy ... and get your attention it did, because it took you back to a time when you were admiring beauty in a sensual (non sexist) way... the basis of attraction, perhaps and your need for a relationship to experience it?

Homosexual relationships in dreams do not automatically make you homosexual. They are more likely trying to highlight a part of yourself you have abandoned. Start with a background read on my ‘Darker Side of Sex post’ << here>>

In your case, a dream to highlight the aspects of self-love, self-acceptance and compassion, that you need to look at, to see where they fit in your current life. Dreams give us the opportunity to explore certain aspects of our personalities and our sexuality too, which we feel – for whatever reason – not able to experience in real life.

To suddenly have your family pop up is representational of your traditional beliefs and those of a group within which we feel safe, which you clearly do not want to jeopardise for an ‘experiment.’

So strange, because technically it is within the family unit that we are meant to work out our struggles for individuality, but so rarely do, as rigid parental values and fears, are so often shoved down our throats from an early age.

(I am interested how your family reacted when your brother revealed his homosexuality, if he has?)

Which would emphasise the point of you trying to hide from them with what you were doing, for fear of reprisals. Family popping in like that also suggests that you had not had the time to fully decide if this kiss disturbed you to the point of revulsion, or not... because you did not get a chance to explore further...

Brothers being highlighted is a symbol for both empathy and rivalry. The Gypsy’s say that if brothers appear happy and energetic, things will go well for you in business and love. For a man to dream of a younger brother, is a sign that you are to consider your vulnerability and perhaps a lack of maturity in handling his situation?

Summing up so far, it seems to me that you are trying to ascertain whether or not you can exhibit your sexuality fully and safely, because apart from a gay brother in your family, this dream is allowing you to sexually explore another option, safely – with less drama for your family - who may feel they have already had enough, perhaps?

The dream was trying to help you to see through the barriers of illusion, by moving the concept forward with your feelings towards this guy, to see where they led you. To pleasure or ultimately hell.’

The first step of pleasure unsettled you and 'freaked you out.'

But the need to find out who we truly are is stronger than our waking mind ... and once the family is placated, you are found at a Restaurant with this guy.

A Restaurant or cafe in a dream represents our need for company. We may be afraid of being alone, but also scared of someone delving too far into our private space too. A public area is a good middle ground to get to know someone whilst we stay in control of the intimacy, thus you can avoid the kissing again. It also speaks to us spiritually in needing to belong to a group of people with the same beliefs as our own, leaving it as you did, suggests that this was not your scene.

Food in dreams is again about what we need to nourish ourselves ... it is ambient here, but here none-the-less, again pointing to the self acceptance and compassion you need to deal with this very real issue in your life. It’s like you are willing yourself to dare yourself to find out the truth.

So, again then ...to have suddenly left as you did, suggests that you have made your stand on the side of heterosexuality.

Dallas Boy, have you had to take a very macho attitude towards your masculinity in your waking life, to prove that you are not gay like your brother ... perhaps to the point of loosing compassion. Compassion is a necessary tool we all need – male and female – in order to find happiness in lives.

The kissing of another man is symbolic for you searching for that side of yourself and learning to love it and accept it back into your ‘mainframe.’ You can be as effeminate as a pink shirt and be completely heterosexual in your preferences, remember that ... by the same token homosexuality is not a disease to be avoided, and perhaps a concept you should open up to and explore further, as your dream is suggesting. Do you go out with your brother?

Your brother may really need a friend who doesn’t judge him, someone secure in his own sexuality and not threatened by something different. This dream may have been helping you get there. I can promise you, that you will only find yourself at the end of the journey, whatever your preferences really are, so try to enjoy the ride, wherever it may take you.

I hope that helps and gives you some cause to pause and ponder... and again, am very sorry for the unusually long delay in getting back to you on this one.

hi lilla

i have the most vivid dreams since i hurt my back and have been taking painkillers . . . i think of them as "opiate dreams" . . . i write the really striking ones in my "writing ideas" notebook because i am so forgetful

i was wondering what you thought of this one:

i am in a post-war/apocalyse type world that looks a bit like the setting of the film "Mad Max", very dry and dusty and flat, like a western cowboy movie except in the future and everyone is dressed like the cast of kevin costers "Water World"

(excuse me but i cant help referencing everything to film, haha)

i have a rag-tag group of misfits as friends, some with disabilities like one with bad vision and big goggle glasses, and another with paralysed legs who pulls himself along on a skateboard type device (all the friends are men) and we are all really dirty and dusty looking.

one of them says there is a big box of beautiful drag costumes, frilly dresses and boas and shoes etc in a boarded up old shop/warehouse but it is dangerous to go near the place as the surrounding street is terrorised by hooligans . . . we spend alot of time waiting for the coast to be clear and make a break for the shop while the hooligans cant see us, once in the shop we have to be very quiet while we search for the costumes . . . we locate them and enjoy going through the box and trying the items on

inside the shop it turns out its much bigger than it looks from the outside with many more rooms and windows and much more light . . . part of the shop is a derelict restaurant with water pipes and plumbing, we put the costumes aside and focus on fixing the pipes into a shower, then we start renovating the whole inside building to make it shiny and new and realise the building could be our potential business

then bombs or guns start going off and the hooligans try to break in to use the shop as a shelter but we dont want them to get in and ruin our nice work . . . we cant stop them from getting in so we take the box of costumes and try to protect them by locking ourselves in the bathroom . . . i am also trying to hide my disabled friends so they dont get hurt because they wouldnt be able to defend themselves or escape

i think at that boxed-in point i woke up

do you need details of my real life to interpret?

Hi Lilla,

Last night I dreamt that I was having a discussion with a group of people, made up of a 'queer' friend of mine (she's the one I remember most clearly - I tend to think of her as rather bothersome, and don't really know what to do with her), my mother and a few young male persons. We were discussing how to go about organising my next overseas trip (the very one I am planning for this June IRL) in an airily lit room consisting of a lot of white, and some black. The tiled floor may have been black and white, but I'm not sure on this point. At some point in the conversation my mum and I assumed a position above the rest of the group although we were still engaged in conversation with them, ascending stairs and standing on the sill of an open window. As I clung to the white net curtains, which were very long, sturdy and also underneath my bare feet on the sill, and looked below, I realised that if I stopped holding on or lost my footing, I would fall, and it would surely be to my death. This made me nervous and made me focus more on getting a good grip on the curtain. My self-consciousness made me more aware that I was leaning forward slightly, and that it required a certain sort of effort to remain balanced. I wasn't sure that I could maintain that balance for a very long time in the future, although I knew that if I got into a certain mindset it would be effortless. I couldn't see my mother properly, she seemed a silent presence, so I couldn't tell whether she wanted to go back down soon or not. Anyway, we were discussing buying a one way air ticket to Paris and going back partially by train, via the Trans-Siberian (something I have indeed thought about IRL). This was suggested by an outside source (although I have always seen this idea as unique to me), probably one of the boys.
I then wanted to comment that the Olympics coming to Beijing would necessitate that we booked ahead of time, and even then there would be no guarantee it wouldn't be booked out already, but the minor fears of falling kept me from formulating the right words, and so I didn't speak.
The room was very simple, but of some age, and the wooden staircase (painted white) had small chunks of wood that had fallen off. My 'queer' friend couldn't stand still, and her black hair contrasted with the white around her. At the mention of passing through Russia she held her nose, as if about to sneeze, and said she didn't *like* Russia, implying she didn't want to go there. The tip of her nose had turned red when she took her hand away - it's almost as if she had blown something into it to achieve the effect.

Note: Just before I had gone to bed, I was teaching myself not to invent fears for myself, trying to find the root of any anxiety I felt and generate a sense of peace and well-being to counter any negative emotion.

---

Also, the night before I had moved to Northern NSW somewhere, where it was apparently more progressive than my previous environment (I think I've been influenced by Northern California there, as my mum and I had discussed moving to the USA), and signed up for dance classes (I used to do dance classes before, but have stopped going, and I miss the exercise). It turned out that Viggo Mortensen (a celebrity, in case you're not familiar with him) was in my class, someone I would love to happen upon IRL, but do not have the opportunity as he lives on another continent. I had a sense that it was not luck but the world conspiring to shower me with blessings that I came across him. The dance class was held outdoors, and short spikes of grass were underneath us, making up the floor. Beyond this space the grass had grown almost up to my height, and we risked brushing up against it every time we moved. (I should mention that in my dance class we were in an irregularly shaped building, and the instructor often asked us to move all around the space, sometimes almost getting us to the edge of the room.)

I would love to hear your thoughts!

Hi Morgan,

I have made it, At LAST!

Thanks for your patience.

Okay we’ll start at the Apocalypse/World War scene and take it from there, keeping in mind the injury to your back and your sub-conscious understanding of it being a possible problem in your future. The opiate dreams is a good name for them and why they are a little fragmented.

The Apocalypse here is the injury, which has left you in the desert of new experience... to be alone in the desert in a dream is bad news and luckily you are not, so in effect what this means is that your relationship either to those people (if known to you) or to parts of yourself (if unknown to you) is becoming sterile.

The war (spiritual disintegration) has passed and circumstances are now moving you on, propelling you forward in your life to new avenues and acquaintances. The outcome of war is always to establish new order and that is what you are doing in life as you deal with your injury.

Spiritually, injury usually comes at the end of abuse, or following our inability to listen to our inner voice and act in time, in order to stop behaviour which we knew to be against our higher guidance or conscience. Hence, spirit will usually arrange a wall for us to ‘hit a wall,’ often in the form of injury, in order to pull us up.

Ragged clothing
here is punctuating this sentiment, since clothing – in general – represents spiritual protection, to see it threadbare means a turn in fortune for the worse. There is much symbolism in dream-clothing and you should look up colours you remember Really Long Link and how the clothes were being worn; Really Long Link even the individual pieces themselves as you remember them Really Long Link

(love the film referencing btw – can relate well).. ooh give me Kevin Costner in his outfit in Waterworld anyday ... but I digress!

Rag-tag group of misfits – Aspects of your fragmented selves - illusions – past pretences, facades and persona’s ... all disabled now in the face of a reality created by injury and living with it : time to re-assess specific parts of your personality where the inner-child may have become blocked, look for new creative outlets (glad one of them was Orble btw).

For a woman to dream that she meets a man with goggles is to say to you that he cannot be trusted, and indeed, no matter who they are on, goggles appear as a symbol of warning that you should not listen to persuasion of any kind, which is likely at this time to only mar your fortunes, coming from any quarter (male or female).

What in your past have you been covering up from yourself, trying not to see, which you must now realise and see more clearly?

Do you think that what you are seeing could harm you in some way, can you remove the goggles and look more closely at something?

Legs/limbs are primarily symbols that represent our means of moving forward in life - often in reference to our sexual development - and there is a masculine part of yourself here (that is to say the logical, assertive side of your personality) that is paralysed from moving freely and only does so, by artificial means, by “pulling itself along on a skateboard.”

Skates or skateboard as a symbol, suggests discord amongst your associates, and some possible scandal associated with your name? (Bwhahahaha I have to laugh at this in light of your current post and ‘you know who’s’ response to your “sleaze” ... you baaaaaaad gurrrlll).... *LOL* looks like your higher self saw that coming!

To see all this scene and people ‘dirty and dusty’ - which according to Gypsy folklore means temporary calamity – all signifies again, that old outmoded ways of living, previous habits and even beliefs can be left behind now. This may also mean even old “friends” who weren’t friends at all, really. Sadly for a woman to see herself covered in dust often portends that she will be put aside for a newer, brighter lover. C’est la vivre ...

There is a spiritual evolution taking place and a new horizon (level of being) calling here in this dream Morgan ... and it arrives in the shop.

***
Welcome to the next level (and orble).

A shop (big inside) rooms, windows and light – aspects of yourself yet to discover. Note where they were, upstairs, downstairs and look through my posts on Buildings in Dreams to clarify rooms, and or Components of Buildings in Dreams, to clarify things like Windows, corridors, doors, curtains etc...

To find the central focus of the derelict restaurant inside this shop, is a fabulous change in fortune for you. It means that you have gifts and qualities within you that can be developed... particularly ‘social skills.’

To find yourself in any dream- restaurant signifies a need for company. In this case, I’d say a new type of company to that which has previously taken up your time. You may find yourself being fearful right now, of being alone, but equally afraid of allowing someone (anyone) to delve too far into your private space. This public place allows for contact but, at the same time, you get to control the level of intimacy... this is magnified by the derelict state of the place. Potential is there, but it needs a little work.

Spiritually, the symbol of a restaurant is presented for you to identify your need to belong to a group of people who all have the same habits, and yet perhaps a diversity of beliefs at the same time.

(sounds like orble to me, what d’you think?) *laughs*

Renovations instead of costumes – good, as it means changes instead of masks in real world, which in turn creates new opportunities in the real world. That the pipes and plumbing need the most attention is asking you to look at the way you direct your emotions. You must now look at how you use your emotions to bypass obstacles, in order to create security for yourself by also controlling the flow of emotions within.

On a pragmatic level pipes and plumbing are asking you to take a look at your internal plumbing and pay attention to your needs. Lots of opiates probably mean your kidneys will need lots and lots of water to flush them (and other organs) clean. I would recommend you up your water intake to 1-2 litres a day. You should be drinking that anyway, especially if you also drink alcohol, smoke or have a poor diet.

On a psychological level, pipes and plumbing draw your attention to our need for emotional security and to be looking at them in your dream (subconscious), is to be looking for where you may have stored information and emotion. We need to be able to access the subconscious more readily in order to create clarity within our lives.

Try to remember where you worked on the pipes, and any particular colours that resonated at the time... any other symbols around them?

LOOKOUT!!!! INCOMING!!!

More bombs and war and that means, inner conflict ... and where there is inner conflict, you know that means it tis time to prepare yourself for an outer confrontation and/or explosive situation!

(*laughs* are we talking orble again?)...

You must take positive action, and be aware of your own emotions and inner turmoil at play here in causing this situation, before allowing it to get the better of you.
You haven’t said specifically how it happens, but to actually see a bomb exploding, is a sign of a fear of sudden death.

Intruder Alert! Rebels, hooligans and bad guys trying to break in ...

All suggestions that there is a threat in your waking life to your personal space here, again with direct connotations to sex and threats to your sexuality ... spiritually, though, it is more serious and intruders are a sign of being open to desecration.

Our Self is a sacred space, but until we understand that it is impenetrable, we cannot be properly open to challenge. Here, the ‘intruder’ is that part of us which does not handle our fears and doubts very well especially when they appear in open confrontation in the waking world.

Escaping rather than fighting, signifies the ability to move beyond – or to avoid – difficult feelings. In this case it looks like you may be trying to run away from the responsibility of the situation that caused the injury to occur in the first place... figuring all will get better and you can continue again soon... look again, because you are now in the bathroom.

A communal place where innocence and sensuality are combined in the symbology of such a room. It is a place where we go to cleanse away old feelings and belief patterns and relax into new phases of life. They are places where we wash away prudishness and narrow-mindedness.

A place where bathing others shows your need to nurture – as in a small child?

Changes needed (more like adjustments) to your original role and path in life?

You can read more about bathrooms here;

Overall a good dream Morgan, one that says to me that you have worked through some hard emotional blocks from your past and progressing well spiritually, on your path of self-discovery. I feel that the dream is showing you a little more about yourself and who you really want to spend time with and particularly, re-enforcing or re-defining your role (socially and sexually) within a specific new ‘group order.’

Real spiritual progress would have followed this dream, no doubts.
Hope that helps?

Sweet dreamzzz

oh my god . . .

fuck . . .

wow . . .

thankyou Lilla, i feel like you looked right into the soul of me and really saw me . . . noone has ever done hat before . . . i am speechless . . . i am humbled

you have quite a talent . . .moreso than any phoney narrow-minded counsellor i have seen

that is absolutely spooky how accurately you have described my personality and situation, and from so very little information

there is a masculine part of yourself here (that is to say the logical, assertive side of your personality) that is paralysed from moving freely and only does so, by artificial means, by “pulling itself along on a skateboard.”

i cried . . im crying now

i know im a woman but recent lack of independence makes me feel completely emasculated, my "male pride" is eroded, my dignity stomped on

Renovations instead of costumes – good, as it means changes instead of masks in real world, which in turn creates new opportunities in the real world.

another "penny drop" moment, even when i wrote out that dream to you i didnt see the significance of that . . . it seems so obvious . . . funny how you cant see things right in front of you

i cant tell tell you how valuable this assessment is to me . . . i feel like i just had a spiritual moment reading it . . . it was well worth the wait, just to feel like someone can actually see me

thankyou
ever so much
from the bottom of my heart
you are a wonderful person xx

Hi Lilla,

I don't know how I've missed your blog this whole time, but here I am finally and enjoying your dream interpretations. I have some very strange, long, and complicated dreams, but here's one of the shorter, calmer ones...

~*~*~

I was part of three ancient things: a person who had a flip-face that showed all emotions, a magical lion, and someone else that I can’t remember. I was the flip-face. We were inside a restaurant getting the equivalent of Happy Meals, when the bad guys (or rather, things) showed up. We snuck out to hide in the car, and someone asked me how many faces I had. I said, "Millions, but I only used about 14." We were hiding in the car when one of the bad guys (a huge snake) slid in...

Just as the snake was about to find me, the dream changed and I was now in a huge house on some sort of treasure hunt or missing persons case, I’m not really sure what. There were all these strange clues that led us to a cup that had crushed mirror and gold in it. I walked into a room that had cursed gold earrings on display in the mansion. Suddenly the people who had called us out to find the missing person told us that the guy was still alive. Snape (in the form of Alan Rickman from Harry Potter) suddenly appeared and he was trying to help me. I wanted to just destroy the earrings and go down to the dungeon and save the guy, but Snape told me that it would just kill the man. He also said that the guy was probably hungry enough to eat his own hand…if he was still conscious.

~*~*~

There you go, have fun!

Hi Meggie,

Thanks for your interesting dream, I apologise for the delay in my response, but I have been offline for a month, followed by a terrible illness of my middle ear, which is still keeping me off balance ... and tomorrow I have interstate house guests coming for a week and dress rehearsals and a retreat to attend, as well as a sea voyage...

Gosh I hope I have enough energy for it all...

I will return to your dream around the middle of this month and I heartily look forward to it, too .. just quickly it looks like a major change is taking place?

Sweet dreams till then,

I have a couple of re-ocurring dreams where I am eating cheese that makes me sick, whilst in the middle of an alien invasion and there is a barn and a horse is sticking it's head through the top half of a barn door and the other side of it's head is alive with alien tentacles...the barn is on fire and there is smoke everywhere and all I have as a weapon is a wooden spoon that is too small anyway!

I don't know what the hell it means, I have several other variations of this dream at times where I am holding different things or the horse is a cow etc.

Am I a Crazy twat!??

Hello again Meggie,

Finally, some time to spend on this interpretation, again my apologies for the delay .. onwards, hopefully helping you to understand a few things about this rather progressive dream of yours.

Flip Face in the Restaurant is interesting ... for starters.

Faces in a dream are considered a favourable omen, as long as they are happy and cheerful enough.

I am not clear on what you mean by FLIP FACE, but I am assuming that by FLIP, you mean it changed to reveal all the emotions on YOUR face in some form of rotating manner?

Which (when seeing our own face), signifies we are trying to overcome terms with the way we express ourselves in the ordinary, mundane everyday world. To see all the emotions possible, suggests that you are looking to UPGRADE your responses and elemental powers of dealing with social issues through the plethora of emotions available to you more expressively of who you REALLY ARE.

The Gypsys say that to dream of your own face denotes unhappiness whichever way you look at it (*LOL* not a very cheerful lot).

In the analysis for Morgan above, I covered the aspects of being in restaurants (in the middle of her interpretation) ... and you can read the information there ... very much the same in your case, as a threat showed up , forcing you to ESCAPE OUT the Back Door. (Follow the links there to Components of Buildings to see what doors represent CLICK HERE )

To be hiding certain emotions (faces), whilst others are being expressed /flipping, is about hiding your own power and abilities ~ only showing certain aspects of yourself to certain people, at certain times...

Most unsatisfactory?

Almost as if you are expressing fragments of your personality, but not the entire amount of it through one activity or skill (you probably came to do). The cure for this is often some form of formal training or study. Something that can nurture, and teach you to bring your inherent talents to the surface in confidence, through learning to trust ... YOUR PROCESS.

You obviously have some greatness within you as a part of your life’s purpose, but need help / encouragement to be able to express the fragments of it into a coherent collective whole.

Time to reflect Meggie.

What are your core passions?

Perhaps a few clues here through the numbers, 1 and 4, which are highly significant. You can look them up CLICK HERE

1 You will quickly see that 1 is all about the beginning, us, the start of everything in our world on the outside, begins with the thoughts and reality of our inner worlds.

4 the earthly reality, the square, loyalty and self honesty.

14 The angels bring a message in this number that they are helping you manifest your positive thoughts, affirmations, and visualisations into reality... (Doreen Virtue’s, Angel Numbers book; ISBN 1-4019-0515-3)

Cars in dreams are a very common and important symbol, as they tell us about our individuality and how we travel along life’s highways ... CLICK HERE for more information that may highlight how you felt in the car.

Oh No, look out it’s a SNAKE on the road!!!!

Complete transformation is at hand... pity you felt the need to run from the unknown here... as I’ve said, we do not fear what we know, and should not fear what we dont know, because how else can we learn?

But better late than never, right? To find out now, what it is the SNAKE came to tell you ...

CLICK HERE ..you will see, that it is quite an honour to have him visit you at all and a sure sign of your connection to the divine!

BUILDINGS are about our personal or the facade we show to the outside worlds. The rooms within the house deal with our mental (upstairs) emotional (mudrooms) basements (subconscious) etc You can explore your house within the Pots on Buildings and Components of BUildings on this site ~ some links provided below)...

CLICK HERE follow the links to COMPONENETS IN BUILDINGS ... where you will indeed find TREASURE (under T) and GOLD ... you will also find odd items like Cup and Mirror there too amongst the Components of Buildings (listed in A to Z).

Happy Potter is an interesting twist, but not surprising to have movie characters represent certain character traits within our own psyche, here the struggle between good and evil. ... Here too, Snape gets you to the lower Dungeons safely (as someone you know you can trust *just*) *chuckle* ... and doubles nicely as the knowledgeable part of you that lives there in full control of all the potions and cures, and wisdom of the ages ... he (that wise part of you he represents) knows when to avoid a hungry monster and the reference to your HAND being eaten, can be understood better by CLICKING HERE

You’ll note that HANDS signify power and the creative and are perhaps the most expressive feature of the body in both the waking life and dreams.

Overall Meggie, a dream of emotional transitions; of assessing your inner drives versus your outer expressions ... Perhaps even the realisation that your wisdom is ageless and involves some form of herblore, or more aptly Medicine / nursing ?

Again the dream points to a developing psyche and your self image and how you value yourself against the back drop of your social setting ... probably just before making some changes to the CROWD you are/were hanging out with, because of the realisation that they were too shallow for the wisdom you had gained from the depths of your subconscious.
That is about reclaiming wisdom and knowledge from past lives, perhaps realising you are different. A loose example would be: they all want admin jobs and you yearn to serve as a nurse, artist, poet, greengrocer (or visa versa)?

I feel that some changes have to (or had to) be made here, as all the symbology points to major personal discovery of a profound nature. It has the feeling of COMING HOME to it. With a knock on effect perhaps of having discovered that in your waking world you had outgrown the daily collective thinking of the group you were involved with in general, at the time?

In this dream, you have begun to recognise creative and artistic potentials within you that no longer fit the mould of either your peers, your own pre conceived notions of yourself, or even of those of your family. You have come to realise that you require further progress to find your life’s true expression ... and this will often result in a new address, job, or course of study ... and possibly even a change in our friendships and / or life partner.

Hope that helps Meggie.

Hi Lilla!

Was on vacation this past week so sorry for the delay. Just wanted to say thanks for that very interesting interpretation! I found the numbers particularly intriguingand the whole creativity thing is definitely me. It's very cool how something that seems so bizarre and disjointed in a dream actually does have a point.

Dear Wayne, can you ever forgive my overlooking you?

Profound apologies.

Dreaming of Cheese is a problem as it is highlighting your need to analyse why you suffer great disappointment and sorrow. You must spend time with silence as a companion to find this out, as Cheese is a predominantly negative symbol at the very least, its appearance is saying that you need to make some drastic changes if you are to find happiness, or you will end up sick (in real life).

As it is to see yourself sick in a dream suggests identifying a bad feeling which needs to be gotten rid of. In this case form the cheese of disappointment and sorrow (as above) probably caused by the events as listed (below).

Psychologically this can be saying that you are letting your emotions rule you because of spiritual imbalance caused through feelings of injustice? Try to find an energy healer or chakra healer who can realign your energies to help you discharge the imbalance that has taken a hold of you and hijacking your life via your emotions. This will enable you the necessary detachment required to heal the problem eating your insides.

Barns are a symbol of untrustworthy romance. Which again counsels that you seek assistance to build your shattered self esteem back to balance. You know Wayne, in certain circles where reincarnation is accepted as a natural part of life and death, it is said that sometimes we were in such a hurry to get back here (to this earth plane), that we just chose any old parents who came along, those not always necessarily good for us or able to prepare us for the onslaught of the individual trauma of our karma as it plays out each lifetime : good and bad. This can often leave us feeling alone, adrift with emotional damage, making it hard to form solid romantic relationships. The counsel here is always to TAKE YOUR TIME.

Take practical physical steps to *get over it,* which is where these wonderful aliens come to help. Because (and I am not joking), people who work with energies and have the ability to heal you and realign chakras, are often souls from other dimensions, or in touch with those who are in other dimensions. Often called off worlders. But somehow your conditioning wont allow you to believe in the ability of Reiki Masters and Energy healers to be able to shift emotional blockages from psychic sensitives who have had materialistic orthodox parents perhaps? Do you see only the one dimension : the one you are in, or do you secretly harbor other views and just need some confirmation? Consider this dream/analysis as that confirmation, what has you got to loose?

Generally speaking the best clue in this dream to your eventual success in life, lies in your being able to Run Away and Not Get Caught, albeit (for now) to another barn of disappointment. I see a pattern here and you must take responsibility as to the role you are playing in bringing certain events into your life, again and again. Laws of attraction will bring in what you focus on. If its disappointment and sorrow, you will bring in heaps more.

However, as I said, not all is lost here, as escaping your attackers means you will soon be making all the correct moves and motivating yourself to achieve victory over this certain situation.

Aliens seen in dreams par se, means an anticipated trip will be dull and uneventful and advises that you change your plans. However, escaping the aliens as you do means that the connection you have wanted to make with a certain type and kind of person, but have been unable to establish in the past, will now be more successful if you take steps to actively *get well.* Any place you have in mind as a getaway destination can then be sought for a much needed mini break, one which will leave you with many fond memories and a chance to recharge after the battle is over.

Things that have felt impossible up until now, will now seem more possible, this dream assures you, that you are headed for a bright future because of the presence of the horse, who adds his horsey wisdom by saying : Pay attention to what your heart is saying, never mind about all the other clap trap around you and watch your ego doesnt run away with you with its empty promises. Pursue what you feel on the heart level, try not to intellectualise it all too much. Remember you must play an active part in having your emotional needs fulfilled, by visualising the positive things you want, not focusing on the negatives. To see a horse means good news and blessing on the way.

Doors are about the obstacles we create (through fears) to sabotage our own efforts (of success), in this case, yours is half removed. Doors are also about moving from one state of being to another and so in order to move off the fence here, again, follow the wisdom of the horse.

More horse wisdom <<here>>

Cow Wisdom <<here>>

Your dream is reoccurring because you eventually have to move forward to reconcillation of this issue. Fortunately, you are not without skills and defenses, one of them your trusty wooden spoon, which is a great tool to have as it assures developing clarity of thoughts (wooden) and the fact that you will be able to deal with the intrusion someone has caused on your family/close friend (spoon). Although a negative connotation to the spoon is that you would like to murder someone (and have thought about it perhaps), so you must seek psychological counseling as well if the energy work doesnt help and you feel yourself getting out of control. Not to be taken lightly, this event has had a terrible impact on you and should not be shirked off as *nothing,* however you could look at it as over, the karmic debt paid.

The wisdom of the spoon, suggests that you find the missing element here by getting to the heart of the matter. Once you have got there and determined the missing element, you will be able to appropriately conduct yourself in such a way as to resolving this long standing issue.

Good Luck Wayne, this dream sounds like a wonderful promise of resolution and better days ahead.

Hi Levi, sorry for the delay in responding, its been a busy week.

Dreaming of brothers is interesting as it has many variants, especially in a mans dream, the most basic meanings pointing towards kinship itself and problems with rivalry.

You don’t mention if the brother is older or younger, so I will mention both. Older brothers are symbolic of your experience and relationship to authority in the waking world. The younger brother of vulnerability and possibly a sign of the need for you to mature a little to make it in the real world right now as a new challenge has presented itself to you. A rite of passage type testing perhaps?

Either way, your brother appearing here suggests that a rite of passage trial looks like it is ahead and you are about to be tested by life to see how you fare? The good news is that by its very appearance, the symbol of a brother is counseling you to be very patient and to watch that you don*t use words to injure your loved one*s feelings during this time. Enjoy a long and happy relationship.

Within the next five days a known person or persons with the tendency to be conniving will enter your life, and lead you to uncomfortable situations. Look out for them as they are the sign that the test of patience has been initiated.

Further clues and significators here as to events lie in (a) being chased and (b) the snake (c) the door and (d) the hole in the door.

(a) The act of a chase is in itself a warning to *speak up for yourself.* Being chased and fleeing usually means an attempt to avoid responsibility for ourselves in some way. In this case, it would be purile of you to do so. For further clues as to how the chase turns out (which includes the act of running away as well) click <<here>>

(b) The snake is a symbol is about coming to terms with your instinctive drives and more commonly how it relates to your sexuality through the recognition and harnessing of energies which have been suppressed and thwarted until now.

The snake confirms the previous warnings of deviant conniving person around you, as to run from one in a dream portends that within the next few days someone will go to great lengths to steer you in the wrong direction. Be alert to this and do not allow yourself to be steered into the wrong direction.

The snake also confirms the above and says it is time for change and the need to shed your skin and transform in some way.

More snake wisdom <<here>>

(c) The door appearing here again confirms movement, this time the movement between two states of being. One before the testing, one after ... sadly, the fact that the door is shut indicates that you are putting up obstacles to block your own progress, luckily a hole appears and the snake stays the same (that is your instincts, sexual drive) survives intact as it passes through the hole (mental obstacle).

(d) Unfortunately the problem remains as the snake is with you in your bedroom? The symbolic representation of your most private inner state/core of your being. The hole being a way in there despite your efforts to block out the snakes wisdom/message to you. The hole itself a symbol of a pending disagreement that will lead to a large quarrel with a member of the opposite sex. Again, the counsel here to keep your distance and avoid saying anything too harsh. You must try to open a clam dialogue about this issue between you, where you can relay your feelings on being pulled into something which u find morally abhorrent.

Good Luck Levi, the timing for this confrontation is obviously right and necessary for your growth as a man. Remember that we need confrontation in order to be able grow as human individuals. Keep calm, be patient and remember no one can make you do anything you do not want to do, and that prayers for a peaceful solution are an option, too.

Dreams about toilets

I would really like some help... I have not seen anywhere any interpretations about toilets and these dreams have plagued me for a long time.

The main context of the dreams is that I have to go to the toilet and I get there and either the toilet is out of order, or it's broken and only the plumbing outlet is there with no toilet bowl, or I am being watched whilst on the toilet.

I thought it might mean something like getting rid of waste... but I'd really love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this tricky dream.

Many thanks in advance....
