..and so to sleep, per chance to dream.

Components and Locations Of Buildings ~ M

November 1st 2007 23:03
Machine ~ When a machine appears in your dream house in any capacity, it is highlighting your body’s automatic functions; such as breathing, heart beating, eyes blinking, elimination – all the mechanical drives of life that help us survive … simply, this object is reflecting the ordinary everyday, habitual behaviours, that take place in our daily lives.

Machine Breaking Down? – A strong warning that you take care of overstressing a particular part of your being.

If the Machine Is Already Broken – it is a more serious matter of re-balancing diet, exercise and relaxation ratios against overwork and abuse. Be warned: ill health often follows this dream if it is not taken seriously and the necessary changes should be made asap.

Magazines ~ Often a sign of loneliness, or lack of mental stimulation. If this is because you are waiting for news from far away, take heart this is a precognitive symbol that the news you are waiting for, is on the way. Its arrival will stimulate you into new ways of thinking and being very soon.

Mail ~ in the dream house also indicates news, but on a deeper level. It tells you of your need to learn new things through revealed secrets, often associated with study. Like Magazines, seeing mail in your dream indicates that the revelations are close by and you will not have to wait much longer for answers to your questions.

Mail in the Letterbox – can often mean it is a good time to consider some form of extra study/research to aid your progress in life. Take time to look into things deeper and find root meanings. It also means that someone is thinking of you in a nice way and you may receive a phone call telling you of their new plans/life.

Maps ~ Maps in dreams are such an exciting symbol, because they presage the clarification of the direction we should be taking in life. They are about finding the right spiritual way forward.

We may be feeling that we are lost and need something to indicate the path we need to take, particularly so far as ambition, or our motivation is concerned.

A Map that has Already Been Used – indicates that we are now capable of taking direction and learning from other people, more than before.

Being Shown the Way by Someone Using a Map – is really important...pay attention to ALL the details here...especially if an older person (with greying hair) is pointing ‘the way forward’ for you.

(See Positions…coming in next post)… otherwise, generally …

Mapping Compass Points – Directions

North – Signifies the Unknown, and hence sometimes darkness. It is about spirituality within the world.

East – traditionally suggests birth and mystic religions. It also represents becoming ‘conscious.’

South – is alerting you to earthly passions and sensuality.

West – can presage death, but more properly the state after death, when there is increased spiritual awareness. Traditionally, it can also represent the more logical side of our natures and the need to engage or disengage them, dependant on the other symbology within the dream.

How are you travelling in your dream?

East to west, north to south, west to east, or south to north … or all the ways in between?

Marble ~ seen anywhere in your house, as a floor or a wall, kitchen bench or bathroom opulence, is a symbol for age and permanence. We all need the quality of permanence in our lives and the fine substance that is marble shows us the values of spiritual firmness, which are prevalent now - perhaps at a time when our boundaries are being challenged?

Often, when we are in trouble – between ‘a rock and a hard place’ – Marble’s beauty and solidity can reconcile us to the fact that we must move forward in an appropriate way - for the higher good of all - including ourselves.

Mattress ~ Similar to dreams about beds, mattresses indicate how comfortable we feel about the situation we have created for ourselves.

A Comfortable Mattress – indicates that we are aware of our needs and are able to create a relaxed atmosphere, which allows us to express ourselves fully.

An Uncomfortable Mattress – can often be asking you to look at your sexual comfort as it is important to you now. How are you handling your sexuality? Are you comfortable within your current social sphere?

Sexual comfort is important, so is spiritual comfort. A mattress is asking you to find the balance and not to neglect the importance of learning new things.

Also see ‘Furnishings/Bed.’

Maze ~ To be caught in a dream maze, is a sign that you need to work out your current confusion about your ideas and feelings. You have conflicting urges and opinions surging through you, especially if the house you are in, has become the maze itself!

If you are wandering through the house aimlessly, lost or stuck in a maze on the grounds of your dream house, you are attempting to learn something about your own courage and the ability to meet the problems of the waking world head on. Take your time, and take notes of what you see and hear along the way, they are the clues to getting you out of the maze of your conflicting emotions.

Medicine (cupboard?) ~ There is a need here, for spiritually healing experiences. You must look at what you can do to ease the ‘ailment.’ Try some yoga, meditation or prayer, or do you need to call up some friends and go dancing, clubbing, start some exercise program?

Do you need to start dating again after a long time of being ‘off the market,’ in order to heal the pain of rejection?

Specific Medication – of which you are aware of why you are taking it, indicates that you are being alerted to a pending health problem, usually the result of a situation which really can be changed from the negative to the positive, before it results in your physical illness. Try stepping aside and looking at the problem from another angle.

Generic Medicines – augur a positive outcome. For example: sometimes in waking life an unpleasant situation in the immediate moment, can be ultimately good for us in the long run. If this is the case, generic medicine taken in a dream …(..things like a panadol), can heal the pain caused by such unpleasantness, allowing us to move forward, cured.

A Mirror ~ in your dream suggests some concerns over your self image. You are sensitive to what others think of you right now for good reason.

To See Your Reflection - is simply a need for you to reflect on your recent behaviour. Is it appropriate to who you really are trying to become, or the situations you are currently a part of?

A Distorted Reflection – indicates that you must delve deeper within, in order to understand yourself right now. Check your motivations and intentions through meditation and sitting still for a little while. Switch off the TV and spend more time in reflection, until you can hear yourself think.

A Talking Mirror/Reflection - will tell you, that you should be listening more closely to your own inner voice in order to find your ‘inner wisdom,’ to regain control of the situation.

Note: Setting up a dialogue with yourself in a mirror in your waking life, can be quite startling and revealing!

Moat ~ Is your dream Castle, Mansion or Shack surrounded by a moat? Then you must rally hard to deal with your defences against intimacy.

If a Bridge is Missing – you must find a way to build it.

If You are Fighting off Invading Enemies across the Moat – you are not ready for the level of intimacy being offered to you right now.

Filling in a Moat – can indicate that you are working hard towards a stage of intimacy with yourself, in order to feel safe in being more intimate with your partner.

Drowning in Your Moat – is not good. It means that you are completely suppressing your emotions or overwhelmed by them where intimacy is concerned. This can lead to a stress related illness if not removed. You must find ways of developing confidence to open up in relationships . . . or change partners to someone with whom you feel safe to share more closeness.

Money ~ Finding a stash of money in the house is always good, because it is just as spendable hard currency in dreams, as it is in reality. However, here (in your dream house), it also represents the value you place upon yourself and your potential for success in your waking world. It’s about having enough self worth to see your current plans and ambitions through to conclusion.

If a Modest Amount is Found - you may need to assess your value more carefully, as well as becoming more aware of the price we all ‘pay’ for our actions and desires. The price of success can be low in terms of spiritual values and happiness.

Small Change – can often indicate a need to re-evaluate your sexuality and power and how to use them wisely, if at all.

Moon ~ The Moon has always represented the emotional and the feminine self, and that which is hidden. If you can see out to a moonlight night, then you are now able to rely on heightened psychic ability, strong intuition, love and possibly even a new (or deepening) romance. It can also mean that your life revolves around a special intimate someone right now.

The moon can represent your mother and nurturing too.. your relationship to her, which like the moon, has always had a strong psychological affect upon our spiritual well being. If a negative one; this icon in your dream, marks the time to start dealing with repressed feelings of hurt and anger where she is concerned.

No Moon - To many cultures, the Great Mother of us all is often represented by the darker side of ourselves - symbolised by no moon - often the mark of the unapproachable.

In a Man’s Dream – the appearance of a moon is saying that you either have to come to terms with your own intuitive side (the feminine), or your fear of women in general.

In a Woman’s Dream – the moon usually indicates your inner-relations with other women through a collective intuition, which may be particularly strong in the coming weeks.

Mosaic Floor/Mandala ~ Any intricate pattern appearing in dreams usually signifies the pattern of our lives and as such, can be very informative upon reflection.

Seeing a mosaic or Mandala, is hinting at a need to step back and take a look at life as a whole, but not without respecting and understanding the many parts of it, collectively. It is a time to chill and look at the big picture. . .

Can you see repeated patterns in your life that are obsolete to how you feel now?

A Mosaic - is made up of many small parts, but all with the deliberate act of creation. You are being alerted to your ability to create and the need to do so. Try dropping some paint onto a canvas or taking topiary lessons.

A Mandala – is a sacred shape, which is so powerful, it is found in one form or another in most religions throughout the world. Typically it is a circle, enclosing a square, with a symbol in the centre representing the whole of life.

Appearing in dreams, Mandala’s become a symbol of the journey of your life from chaos to order. As such they are mainly used for meditation and the principle of the meditation goes something like this;

‘…You travel from the outer circle (which stands for the whole of existence), through the creation of matter – the square – to the centre of existence – usually symbolised by the eight-petals of the flower of life, or often depicted as the eight-pointed star - The centre is pure consciousness and the symbol represents man’s apprehensions and his burdens. After reflecting there, you finally move back out again into the wider circle, to take your place again in material existence.’

Karl Jung deemed this emblem to be a really important part of our psychological wholeness. Our balance. The word Mandala itself means : ‘Circle,’ and Jung saw it as being an archetypal expression of our very soul. As such, appearing to you in a dream, you are put on notice that it is a true expression of your own individuality and of your unique connection with Unity, whatever you see that to be.

Note : The colours, shapes and number of sides of each shape … all are key to deciphering this dream accurately; you are advised to note as many colours, shapes and numbers you can remember for interpretation of the exact messages being revealed to you.

When Ego and Individuality are understood, the soul searches for representation. The wholeness and yet separateness of a Mandala in a dream (or deep meditation) can move us into a space, which enables us to create a whole new concept of the principles of existence.

(See Colours, Shapes and Numbers).

Music/Rhythm ~ both expressions of our inner selves, it is about the rich connection we can create to life and living.

To Hear Music in the Dream House – suggests we have the potential to make that basic connection, adding sensuality and sensual tones to an otherwise bland existence. Be on the lookout for opportunities to add rich, poignant and deeply moving experiences to your waking life. Take some calculated risks into adventuring into new realms of experience. Why not try some new CD’s/sounds?

Sacred Music – (chanting, drumming and pipe playing) is used to induce drug-free, altered states of consciousness and this need is represented in dreams by hearing of this music.

If this is you, then it’s time to get involved in some meditation groups or drumming circles, maybe join a local choir. This dream is often a warning that your etheric-body, emotional and physical bodies are out of alignment with your spiritual body. You may well need fine tuning or Chakra Cleansing.

You may need to look at diet too.

Musical Instruments ~ Stand for our skills and abilities to communicate in the waking world. They can appear when we are feeling a little frustrated in one area or the other.

Percussion Instruments – suggest you have lost touch with the basic rhythms of life. Are you working too hard or not enough?

Remember : Work, Rest and Play… not work, work, rest, work; or rest, play, play rest, rest and play.

Wind Instruments – tend to suggest the intellect and matters of mind. Is your thinking cluttered… thoughts congested? Check your work desk or house and clean out the clutter if it is. Have a garage sale, give to the poor and minimise the mess around you in your waking world.

Check your diet, include exercise, wholefoods and 2 litres of water per day.

Brass Instruments – often suggest bodily function and libido. Too much or too little? Look at your exercise routine… have you got one? Try swimming every week, or walking 30 minutes each day if the libido is out of tune.

Piano – is about satisfying the aesthetic senses. That means culture and visiting artistic places like galleries and museums. The piano will often appear in dreams as a symbol of our own creativity and how it needs reflection through aesthetics and emotional responses. Give yourself time to create.

Playing the Piano – Creative sound is a vital aspect in spiritual development, and our appreciation of music can often give an indication of spiritual progressions. Look at what you are listening too, is it time for a change in music, have you outgrown your current music collection?

Try going to listen to an orchestra play somewhere, or a new band at the local pub/club. Immersion into aesthetics and sound now, will reap rewards later.

Drums – indicate the basic rhythm of life, necessary to keep us sane and healthy.

Hearing Drums in Dreams - means that our current lifestyle is cutting us off from our own natural rhythms and primitive urges. Have you been running with the pack too much lately? Try switching off the TV for a few nights and listening to your music collection instead.

To Be Playing Drums – is about taking responsibility for the rhythm of your own life and that you are ready to do so. Bravo! It is time to stop giving your power away to others who use it to control you.

Note : Blue lace agate (left) or Lapiz Lazuli(right) (any blue crystal except Turquoise) rested on the throat for a few minutes each day ~ whilst meditating/resting ~ or worn as a pendant, can do wonders to aid clearer expression, speech and communications.

Mystic knots ~ Which can appear anywhere, made from anything ~ from ropes to hair ~ indicate that you have entered a situation that has no solvable outcome at this time.

Traditionally mystic knots have no beginning and no end, and as such represent a problem that can only be solved by the pretzel of time itself. Be on notice that no human effort will change the current circumstances… move on.

This symbol can appear if you are trying to attempt to rush an understanding of yourself and your relationship to the spiritual too… the mystic knot is infinity itself, you cannot rush that.

Phew! ‘M’ was HUGE, wasn’t it? I’ve been here all day… gosh, I hope ‘N, O and P’ are easier *chuckle* I know they are ‘knot.’
