Racks ~ are about what we store up and need to keep things in order in our waking lives. They can often highlight our views on self discipline and problems we may have with it.
A Wine Rack – is saying; ‘…pay close attention to your social life.’
A Shoe Rack – is pointing you to the discipline needed to decide your best method of progress.
Being On The Rack – often suggests that spiritually, you have a problem with discipline, particularly self discipline. You may have either already embarrassed yourself, or put yourself in the ‘victim’ position if this symbol has appeared.
Reading a Book – symbolises a need to seek more information about the matter.
Reading a Letter – you will receive good news very soon.
Reading a List – you must add some order to your life.
Reading A Holy Book – means that you need to understand your belief system more deeply. Some reflection required.
Reading a Novel – you must become more aware of your need of fantasy in everyday life.
A Psychic Reading – A deep need here for you to find ways that help you to understand yourself better. I would suggest you learn how to meditate. It really is not anything way-out mystical, okay. Simply sitting and breathing can get you started. Get a guided meditation tape or CD and have a go – regularly.
Rent ~ there comes a time when we want to expand our potential; we must find space of our own. Paying rent allows us to do this and as a dream symbol it is calling for an act of independence through focused effort in your waking world.
Paying Rent – Undertaking personal responsibility to take care of yourself is paramount to you now.
Receiving Rent – You have, or soon will enter into a very beneficial financial/business deal, which will benefit you greatly.
Rooms ~ are iconic dream images of the various parts of our personalities and levels of understanding. Depending on their location in the building, they can also signify the great mother and the womb.
A Series of Rooms – is referring to your whole soul, usually the feminine aspect.
Upstairs Rooms – Are usually about mental and spiritual believes and attributes; conditions and transformations.
My advice is that you pay particular attention to ALL the details around this type of dream room. (See Stairs)..
A Basement with Water – is a very direct representation of the womb and our return to that womb-like state. Be careful it doesn’t mean abdication of responsibility in the waking world.
Moving from one Room to Another – If this a deliberate act then it signifies that you have successfully changed your state of consciousness and are finally leaving something outmoded, behind.
Empty Rooms – Your life is lacking comfort and support. Change your social circle.
Bathrooms : Are about releasing and washing away anxiety and prudish narrow-mindedness.

Shaving in the Bathroom – is about the constant need to make changes to our personality. The interpretation depends on the style of razor…
- A Safety Razor reveals that a less risky method needs to be found to help us reveal the truth about ourselves.
- An Electric Razor suggests that we need to pay attention to the image we put across in everyday life, least we project an image that works against us.
- To Be Shaving Someone Else – is to be caring unless the act is violent, then you are being alerted to your need to change your personality or sharpen it.
- Something Wrong with the Loo? Then you are emotionally blocked.
- An unfamiliar Loo means you are not sure of the outcome and what it will be.
- Cleaning the Loo is a wonderful sign that you are loosing your ‘prudish’ behaviour.
- You have to cue for the loo – it means imposed order for a reason. You cannot put the horse before the cart, divine order is important. Intimacy before it’s time can be a disaster.
To Be in Bed Alone – shows your need to return to the safety and simplicity of the womb state for comforting. Hang in there, things will get better soon.
Going to Bed With Someone Else – can either represent our unrealised sexual attraction to that person, or is indicating that we need to have no fear of them...often the same thing.

Kitchens are primarily about the mother, or the mothering / nurturing functions. It is usually the busiest place in the house and the place where relationships are ‘cemented;’ where most exchanges take place.
Rituals and folklore associated with hearth and fire abound in all cultures, and are still a part of universal spiritual development.
The work in the kitchen is one of shared offering.
Cooking – is a strong, rich symbol of creativity. It’s about satisfying hunger, our own or others, in this case not physical hunger, but more subtle needs – like opportunities to express ourselves creatively.
To be baking suggests that to succeed and move forward we need to blend certain aspects of our existence within our waking reality in new and original ways.
Steam is transient and because it combines two elements, often points to the pinnacle or completion of a particular transformation from one stage of life to another through discovery of a new creative expression.
On the other hand, is someone really ‘…steaming you up lately,’ holding you back from expressing yourself?
Kettle – this dream icon is pointing you in the direction of the mundane, everyday practical side of your nature. It suggests that you may have outworn ideas and need to speed up your learning process a little.
Again the association to magic through the cauldron-type kettle/pot, can suggest that magical forces are working for the greater good of all here and new ways will be revealed through the feminine intuition soon.
Ovens can also be a prophetic symbol for pending conception and birth.
Are you turning cold sexually, is there a need to?
Rotten Food in Fridge – You do not feel those around you are sustaining you properly. You may need to move on and make some new friends?
Refrigerating Leftovers – mean you have been storing up resentments for a very long time. Ignoring this symbolic warning means that you will eventually explode, become ill, or “cool down” emotionally to those you claim to love in your waking life.
Religious austerity can often appear as a refrigerator in your dreams.
Being Attacked with a Knife – expect some violent words or actions against you soon.
Knives in a Man’s Dream – is highlighting your own aggression - are you coming on too strong lately?

I don't know, I have always been a big dreamer, on both sides of consciousness *giggle* I thought everyone dreamt of houses and buildings?
Those squares sound like fine work too ... a friend of mine takes them to Uganda to an orphanage there and they are greatly appreciated. Do you know where your's go to?

Please excuse me for the delay, you will know that my life gets very hectic at times… I hadn’t forgotten you… more that it’s taken this long to get back here and make the time I needed to honour a decent answer... sorry.
I have been asked this a couple of times and offer the links here to help you understand more about visitations as opposed to a dream ‘symbol’ or presence. Each has a purpose on a specific level of consciousness and subconsciousness, as well as actual spiritual contact with the other side.
Try herefirst.
Otherwise, visitations are more lucid and generally detached from an internal emotional response, ie., the company is like it is real and enjoyable, not loaded with symbols and emotional vibes.
Sometimes you'll twig to the difference days later when what they were doing or saying happens in real life and you have that kind of 'De Ja Vous-ish-type' of feeling... maybe even flashbacks to certain dreams themselves?
This is very personal and you really have to work towards differentiation, yourself, through keeping a journal and perhaps putting the 'dreams' you think may be visitations down in another colour?
I love dreams of my Dad they are always magical indeed. For me they usually portend peaceful, good experiences and progress on my path because he is still alive (just).
However, alive or dead, dreams of Dad are mostly positive symbology in a woman’s dream, especially if the waking relationship was a good one. Generally, in a woman's life, dreams of Father are about the 'patterns' on which girls base their relationships.
Sometimes - if the relationship with your Father was a negative or difficult one - there may be some residual resistance to resolving the various conflicts which have arisen in your waking life, through that difficult relationship. Things like victim mentality, drama magnetism, problems and repeated obstacles.
This is so very often trying to iron itself out in the dream-world, when Father appears there.
When you work out - through your dream - that you no longer need this pattern, you can find more appropriate ways to have a more mature relationships.
Hope, dancing with Dad, suggests perhaps that your current relationship is a bit drab… lacking in gaiety, need to get away from children?
A word to the wise, if you can’t get hubby out onto the dance floor in any way… women need to dance, so grab some girlfriends and head out to the dance floor. Join a multi-cultural dance troupe, belly dancing or Ballroom dancing classes?
Even if it’s a visitation (not a dream) the message seems clear… you’re a bit bogged down worrying about the crap in life and not getting enough of ‘life’ itself?
So the portents of a symbolic father dream talks of pending difficulties that will beset you to test a certain area of your character that needs to be developed. Be on the lookout for the ‘problem’ when it gets to you, identify it as the test your dream warned you about, and go dancing to compensate the extreme emotional conflict that will arise as a result of it.
Old Gypsy folklore : if a girl dreams of her dead father, her partner is not being perfectly honest with her and business is pulling heavily.
Grandad coming to dance with you, unfortunately suggests that there are some bumpy bits in the road ahead. Grandad’s appearance however, says that you must follow the good advice you get, to get through it. Keep on dancing the dance of life when bad news arrives, because his presence is working for you and reassures you that you will succeed, so keep your hopes up when you loose your way… it is temporary ... and victory will be yours.
Symbolically Grandparents appearing to us in any form are about following the path of wisdom, usually by reflection on what we have accrued, in order to cope and deal with situations as they arise.
Sorry, hope for the seemingly bad news, but opposition brings change and growth and strengthens us. It should not be shunned, as it also gives us a chance to pay back bad Karma we may have accumulated through previous ignorance.
