Dream Herald - by Lilla

In his work entitled *Sacred clowns* Tony Hillerman writes ~ *.... This business of hozho. The way I understand it ... I’ll use an example. Terrible drought, crops dead, sheep dying. Spring dried out. No water. The Hopi, or the Christian, maybe the Moslem, they pray for rain. The Navajo has the proper ceremony done to restore himself to harmony with the drought. You see what I mean. The system is designed to recognize what’s beyond human power to change, and then to change the human’s attitude to be content with the inevitable.* : The truth is, Dreams Help Us Adjust in exactly the same way . . .

Buildings In Dreams - P-S

August 23rd 2007 04:04
Pagoda – This is a special, magical place to find yourself in, and suggests a wish for just such an experience in your waking world. A pagoda highlights your need of an escape and shelter from the storms of daily life, right now…especially if it’s raining in the dream as well.

If poverty is part of this storm, remembering the value of simple luxuries at this time, like a hot bath in sea salts…and the relief it can bring, can help you now.

Palace – see Castle

Parliament – Dreams of parliament operate as a red alert from the parts of ourselves that are currently involved with our decision making process. The higher aspects of ‘Self,’ has a degree of authority over us and as such, that part which monitors our view of the Greater Good.

At a deeper level, this dream is about spiritual clarity and the parts that connect us with the rest of the humanity. It shows how we relate to the group and if it is a happy dream, things are going well.

Trouble in Dream Parliament? – symbolises the need to make adjustments to our own spiritual ‘Magna Carta.’ Is it time for an update, amendment or addendum? Or is someone compromising your ability to ‘access’ our own Magna Carta?

Pavilions – are about positive social interactions, too.

Happy sharing the Pavilion with others? – symbolises a need to socialise, perhaps you have been working too hard and forgotten to balance it with some play-time?

Trying to Escape the Pavilion and its People? – It’s time to be alone. You have some reflecting/thinking to do.

Pub(lic) House(s) – As in many ‘public buildings’ this dream also relates to how we relate to groups, but a Pub adds another dimension, by offering us insight about how we ‘feel’ about society too.

Every human has social needs that can be met with cordial company, particularly in a pub or bar. In the olden days these places were inns for travellers and as such any companionship was considered transitory. This symbolism is still represented today in dreams by being in a place where we can relax and nothing more is expected of us. However, in the waking world this can translate to problems with, or a need to escape from, permanent relationships.

If this is not the case, spiritually, this dream can often represent a creative space, where ‘group-souls’ meet and connect, to talk about their (meta-physical) work and life – a place where few judgements will be made.

Generally, a public building in any dream, offers a place where we can drop our inhibitions, and connects us to our Pagan needs for celebration and festivity, and when appearing in a dream strongly (or repeatedly), can reflect the need for getting out and dancing, and meeting new people in our waking world.

Pyramid – this is a very powerful image, always symbolic of the integration of the Self and the Soul, to the mystical.

On a physical level it is a building of wonder. On a mental level, it is a structure of regeneration. On a spiritual level, it is a guardian of power. The level of interpretation of this image your a dream, will largely depend on your awareness as to its depth of meaning... However, generally speaking, the pyramid is alerting you to a wider awareness of power and energy, which is available to you, and more than what you have accessed up till now.

There is a point inside the pyramid where all planes intersect. This will regenerate any matter placed there. Meditations in larger pyramids within this place, often enhance mystical experiences… and if you enter a pyramid in your dream, is to be searching for the meaning of life…usually through the integration of all three planes of existence, into a cohesive whole.

Does your current lifestyle fulfil all your spiritual needs?

Sometimes the image of a pyramid can represent death, but only ever when it is accompanied by rebirth, therefore it remains a symbol of Alchemic Transformation through Integration.

Restrooms (Public Toilets) – in dreams represent the health and well-being of your physical body.

A Messy or Partially Demolished Restroom – means you need to take better care of your body.

Are you drinking enough water, eating the right foods, getting enough exercise and sleep?

To Interact with Someone in the Restroom – indicates that you are contemplating a very honest, frank, straightforward interaction with someone in your waking world.

To be Approached Whilst in a Restroom Stall – presages a warning of victimisation possibly due to your feelings of vulnerability.

To Be Harassed in a Restroom – means someone is trying to invade your privacy either mentally, emotionally or physically. You must learn how to protect your psyche through prayer, meditation and/or spiritual practices.

Ruins – To find yourself amongst the ruins, suggests that it is time you began to pull things together, especially if the building has crumbled from neglect or vandalism.

To deliberately Ruin or Demolish a building – means you need to clarify a self-destructive element within your nature… sometimes the type of building destroyed here will offer great insight into the area the self sabotage stems from within your psyche.

School – This is a funny dream, as it usually surfaces during a period of time in which we are in new (or about to enter new) situations in our waking lives. They usually appear just before the ‘new’ learning curve’ begins, or is about to.

School rooms appear as we use external experiences to help us integrate certain aspects of our personalities. In dreams they mark the place where we learn new things outside of those of our families. As such, they most often appear as we attempt to get rid of old outmoded ideas and concepts, and when we are learning different ways of dealing with authority, and our feelings of inadequacy.

A warning dream of challenges to come - life tests - often considered the biggest schoolroom of all. Life itself is said to offer a place where we are constantly learning and experiencing, to enable us to maximise out potential, for what comes afterwards.

If You are Late to Class, or show up late for an exam (perhaps even one you never even practised for?) – You are feeling unprepared for something in your life.

If you are Looking for a School Classroom – this dream is telling you that it is time to expand your education, beyond your current beliefs.

You may be at risk of becoming narrow minded.

To be made a Fool of by anyone in the Classroom, or jeered at – indicates that a deep fear of ridicule, may be hindering you from moving forward. Time to deal with it?

Eastern Methods include : Acupuncture, Meditation, Yoga, Tai Chi.
Alternative (accredited) methods include : Emotional Detox workshops, Chakra Cleansing, Crystal healing, or Reiki alignment.

Your local spiritualist church holds weekly energy healing, for free!

Shelter/Lean-To – Although not technically a building, a lean-to in a dream is a symbol of protection. It symbolises the need for a safe place and can be represented by anything from a snails shell, an umbrella, or an Aboriginal lean-to, made of sticks and straw.

This dream is trying to highlight your insecurities, look around for the symbology represented in other things… they may help reveal the areas you feel insecure about.

If You find safe shelter from a menacing threat in the dream - you will be successful in finding a sanctuary – in real life – where you will not be harmed whilst you work out the problem in your own time.

Lilla,

Great pics, I love the lean-to. I don't really have these problems, but I have been dreaming a lot lately and remembering [for a certain time] so all of this must be very fascinating for those who have such dreams.

katyzzz,,,really well done, as always

More great dream info Lilla

This weather is certainly conducive to dreaming.... it`s been another WONDERFUL day on the coast and now the rumbles of thunder are accompanying it all.

I was wondering if you have any info on what it means to dream of the moon? I had a dream that I was watching two moons rise above the ocean at what was first sunrise (the tip of the sun was rising from the ocean) but then turned to sunset. One of the moons disappeared in an explosive spark. Then I looked over my shoulder and there was another moon with small clouds blowing across it in the sky behind me.

Keep all nice and snug tonight! It`s definitely fireplace weather... if we had a fireplace

Hi Ash,

Thank you for the lovely compliment.

Mmmm, you said it, so wonderful, all of it. Hubby got a call-out with the SES this morning – gone to rescue some people stuck on roofs of cars in Sunshine Coast, flash floods???

No snuggling last night, for me … there is a Drama Festival on and “play-offs” started last night at the KSP Deception Bay Community Centre. (PM me if you want contact details).

Three nights of fabulous semi-pro plays for $7.50 per night. Woo hoo. I took the girls and we really enjoyed it. The theatrical groups are coming from as far south as the Gold Coast, and from Noosa in the north. In fact, one lot from Noosa couldn’t get through last night because of the bad weather. It’s a great little theatre and we were ‘front row.’

It’s a really wonderful resource to have within the community and although popular with regulars, so obviously under-utilised by the general public...I guess ‘Home and Away’ and ‘CSI’ are still more appealing than live, thought-provoking theatre. *cringe*

I met a few playwrights and welcomed a few invitations to write some new material… gosh, I am so busy already! I will give it some thought in due course. We can’t make it tonight as there is something else on, but tomorrow night will be the final and the judges will deliberate and decide: supper is to be thrown in apparently - all for $10 per head.

*getting back on topic, sorry…*

Moons are interesting dream symbols, anytime… two even better (and relevant)… Ash, even though I have seen this symbol often and studied it so much in my life – both awake and asleep – I always feel there is something more mystical and pertinent about the moon that evades me? But that is precisely what it is about… the mysterious side of ourselves.

You know my views on ‘this side’ of life about the moon … it is not a natural structure in my eyes and was ‘built,’ probably by Nick’s Giants (the Elohim)? *chuckle* Who knows, but the general consensus about this symbol in your dream is that it represents the Great Mother, the darker, unknown side of self… often the icon of the unapproachable emotional and feminine aspects of your personality.

Usually, dreams of the moon indicate that you are accessing this side through the passive, reflective and ‘feminine,’ – like intuition, the psychic, love and romance. It shows that you are communicating with the dark and mysterious side of your nature regarding a certain matter.

Dreams of the moon can also represent your mother and your relationship with her and perhaps why you saw two of them… let’s have a closer look...

The balance here is an interesting factor in its numerical aspect too; (1) because there were two moons and (2) because one disappears. In this context I think this was a dream about your inter-relations with other women through the feminine ‘collective intuition.’

Look up the numbers one and two. The fact that one disappears, may well indicate that you have symbolically cut the maternal ‘apron string’ and are ready to fly solo, emotionally.

Clouds gather for new emotional experiences that arrive, on cue, to test us and ‘weather’ us with life’s spiritual/emotional/mental storms. Great big billowing clouds, threatening and menacing are about feeling overshadowed by someone or something. This is not the case here, little wispy clouds indicate uplifting, almost religious feelings, and that the storm is behind you.

A nice dream to have had, Ash. Something significant has been achieved, emotionally. Congratulations!

My knees are so cold, sitting here.

Hugs

Lilla …

PS Kleo has also asked for posts on "weather in dreams" and I will oblige once 'buildings' is done as we all have weather in our dreamscapes...

Hello Aimzter,

…so wonderful to see you again… I’ve been away and busy for so long, I have so much to catch up on here in orble… ho hum, all in good time.

Thank you for your lovely compliment, even though the readership isn’t huge, I do enjoy writing these dream posts as they are helping me order all my notes, thoughts and snippets of information on this vast subject.

Hope you are keeping dry. It’s bucketing here in se qld. - not complaining..we really need it and I adore storms.

*soggy hugs*
