Body Parts : M - Z

Mouth – A generic symbol : The mouth can represent the devouring, demanding parts of ourselves, as well as the pleasurable. Ironically, dreaming of the mouth can also represent the receptive sides of our nature. Other circumstances of the dream will give the clue as to how to interpret the appearance of a mouth.
Generally speaking, its appearance represents new attitudes are forming and news may soon be forthcoming, regarding something you have been anxious about.
Muscles – To appear in a dream you are being advised that you are stronger than you think you are in a given situation. You particularly have the power to overcome emotional sorrow, available to you now. Take heed of new friendship, so as not to repeat past mistakes.
Neck – Necks can be stiff or flexible, much the same as friendships. To dream of a neck often warns you of trouble in friendship cased through feelings of resentment and jealousy. Try to be more flexible in daily life.
Nose – Instinctive knowledge. The nose can also stand for curiosity and intuition. To clearly see a nose in a dream and remember it’s finer details, denotes great powers of imagination and creativity. This can cause disruption in relationships and you are being asked to keep this in mind.
If you have a nose as a regular dream symbol it means you are more suited to creative pursuits rather than business and commerce. Rely on inner wisdom.
Penis – [Non-Sexual] This symbol is highlighting your attitude towards sexual intercourse. You must look at the symbols around this one to define it further. More often than not, dreaming of a penis is common amongst male dreamers, but no less a dream of power when dreamt by females in a non-sexual capacity. In either sex, this dream often presages the message that Power is now available to you to use - for the new project - or for some plan you have been working on, for a while.
Shoulders – As we shoulder responsibility in the waking world, so too do we use this symbol to represent burdens in the sleeping one. There are often problems and worries following a dream of shoulders, but they are temporary, and you will ‘shoulder’ them well. Satisfactory outcomes, after some struggles.
Skeleton – This dream is strange and rare, but it often represents a time when the dreamer is feeling betrayed, or unsupported in some way. It often presages that you already recognise that you do not trust someone close to you. You must look at the relationship a little deeper. Often appearing when you feel that your life may be falling apart, seeing a skeleton of any sort should signal hope and be viewed as a positive sign.
Stomach – [See Abdomen] – also : can indicate that a tendency to lazines, which has caused certain problems to snowball in your life. This, in turn, has caused some dis-ease to manifest? You must keep tabs on your health – get moving. Remember :Pain is fear leaving the body...
Teeth – This is not a good sign in dreams. Traditionally it stood for aggressive sexuality and bad news – although more properly - seeing teeth today, would more properly represent the growth process towards sexual maturity.
Falling out, or Coming Out Easily – signifies that we are aware that we are going through some transition, similar to that from childhood to maturity, or from maturity to old age and helplessness.
To Be Anxious About Teeth Falling Out – suggests there is a fear of getting old and undesirable, or of maturing (here seen as a sign of weakness).
In A Woman’s Dream – if teeth are swallowed, it often signifies pregnancy.
Thigh – Thighs in dreams signify movement forward in our lives and the development of good social standing. We must guard against gossip and social disgrace if thighs appear in our dreams. Do not become irrational because of gossip either, make sure you get your information from the 'horses mouth.'
Throat – Dreaming of the throat denotes awareness of our vulnerability and also of the need for self expression. Usually a positive dream of success, if no threat to the throat is noted.
[See Choking (in Dark Side of Sex, for further analysis]
Thumb – Separate from the fingers, dreaming of the thumb suggests awareness of how powerful we are.
Thumb Pointing Upwards – represents beneficial energy.
Thumb Pointing Downwards – as in the waking world, is negative. This latter symbol has been around since Roman times, when it was used as the death signal for Gladiators.
Tongue – The tongue in dreams often symbolises our ability to know when to speak and when to remain silent. It also relates to pleasure and new experiences. As a symbol in a dream, the tongue can point to our own understanding of information that we wish to pass on to other people. Do you have deeply felt believes you wish to share? Then this dream presages that the time may have come to do just that. Dreamt of in a positive pleasurable way, it may be a sign of future professional success.
Of course, our friend Freud had a much more basic explanation for its symbolism, as that of the serpent and the phallus, and hence sexuality.
Urine – in a dream often indicates our feelings about emotional control. Do you yield to it, or bottle it up? How you deal with urine in your dream, will often tell you a great deal about your own sexuality.
Vagina – Most often, dreams of the vagina are to do with your self image and matters of self-esteem.
In a Woman’s Dream – It is highlighting your receptivity. You are likely to begin a new phase of life where fortune smiles on you more readily than in previous years.
In a Man’s Dream – it suggests a need to be penetrative, both mentally and physically. You may be enthusiastic about a new acquaintance or connection, which is most favourable.
Womb – The womb represents a return to the beginning. We all have a need of basic security and shelter, and perhaps to do away with responsibility. Dreams of the Womb can signify our need to satisfy those requirements.
On a slightly more esoteric level the womb represents our connection with the Great Mother or Mother Earth.
Returning to the Womb – suggests your need to reconnect with the passive more yielding side of your nature. You may need a period of self-healing and recuperation away from the rate race?

Yes, it's a funny one isn't it?
On reflection, I guess we all fit a feminine role somewhere of the right balance, despite what the outside (modern world) holds as the correct 'version.' I don't know I'm as confused as the next woman sometimes... but yes, it is a common dream symbol and a most interesting one when reflected upon, no doubts about it.
As always, I guess the best advice is to look around the teeth for other "clues..."
I hope it helps you progress on your path.
love, light and laughter to you (and yours),
Lilla~

..it wouldn't surprise me if yu discovered that this was true... it is only in recent years, after passing the 40 tide-mark, that I considered it worth making great attempts not to hide things from myself... first and foremost... and particularly where dreams are concerned.
I was surprised at how much I was ommiting during youth...
I would be really interested to see what you discover as the months wear on and you make more conscious attempts to remember ALL the little nuances and symbols that occur from here on in... there is that too, that as you near the mid-life rite of passage, the symbols shift to different ones?
Although scary at first, I have come to realise that the new symbols are helping me to srt out the imabalances of youth and the things that made me unhappy...
I would welcome sharing your significant findings as the 'change' passes, as it is new ground for my research, and yours too, I suspect... it will elighten us both.
Talk again soon,

Now that I have my dream journal set up as part of my blog, I've made the commitment to myself to be completely, totally, and 100% honest - and consistent, in recording the dreams. You'll see from reading (if and when you get around to it) that I do my very best to capture every detail I can remember, and also interject emotions/memories/thought processes triggered by certain symbols or dream events. What's interesting to me is to go back and see how some of the very essence of writing style can change from recording one dream to the next. My dreams are incredibly vivid and I'm working more and more on understanding their language.
Thanks for the inspiration and motivation, Lilla. I may not have come to this point in my quest if our paths had not crossed. You've prompted me into action and I'm grateful.

I don't know about you, but it is a sheer delight for me to have been an inspiration for anyone, and really nice of you to say so...
thank you.
I've read a couple of your dreams already (haven't had time to comment), but if you don't mind, may interpret here and there too... old habits die hard... *chuckling*

It`s great to have your pages here to refer to after a restless night.... although not always what you had hoped for the symbol to mean, i guess all a part of the process! I wonder if it`s allowed to just pretend you never had the dream in the first place
